Aha! You can fool many, but not me! I noticed how you asked people to subscribe while the satisfyingly shiny letters were rotating in the background. I think this tutorial was nothing but a nifty trick to hypnotize people (rotating chrome letters are mesmerizing!) and make us subscribe to your channel in a subliminal way. Thank you for all your tutorials.I find them very useful and informative. I have have followed this one step by step, but I seem to always run into a problem when it comes to enhancing the chrome effect. I do not see the panels defuse,specular,illumination and ambient shown in the the upper right or the option to adjust reflection or shine. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (running Photoshop 2020)

I'm trying to edit text in 3D and I want to get a reflection effect on the writing but the reflection option is missing from the materials adjustments? I've got the latest version so I'm confused as to why this is missing from the materials options. I haven't used Photoshop 3D much but I've followed a tutorial and it's still not showing, I want my text to have a reflective chrome texture to it

I added some music and used the render option instead of the gif, once it’s finished and saved, the text doesn’t spin, i airdropped to my iphone, i can hear the music but the text doesn’t spin. Please help

Use Metal 100% and Roughness between 0 to 5% depending on the effect you want to render :) (That's if you want to have that chrome/metal effect)

i had that issue on my regular CS6 software. You need to have CS6 extended or the new CC

Mine will not rotate a full 360. Just 180. Looping it does not work

I've got a question...... I followed the tutorial exactly but I cannot get the text to spin all the way around. When I play it it only spins halfway and then reverses direction back to the beginning. How do I get the text to spin all the way around. Please someone help me out. Otherwise the results are super but if I can't get the text to spin all the way I won't be able to use this effect. Thx

I think it's interesting that when you pressed play and it didn't spin, you were expecting it to spin. And although you noticed right away why, you didn't accept you'd made a mistake, but instead pretended that you intended that to happen. You are a bit too glossy yourself, like your chrome text. If you show you are human, your tuts won't be just a constant stream of click here, press that.

Ha ha. Maybe. We all change because of each other. BTW. I've watched this twice and still don't understand why there is a layer of white shapes, and where the chrome effect comes from. Putting two and two together I'm guessing they are connected but don't see how.

Short answer. Yes. They are connected. Long answer: The IBL (Image Based Light) is creating sort of an environment light. So, if the environment is just white shapes on black, then those shapes will be reflected on the text when the reflection is jacked up, making the text look chrome. If we had a photo of a street, then the contents of the photo would be reflected on the text.
