The most unrealistic part of this plot is that no Russian would ever nuke their homeland just to start a war. They are perfectly willing and capable of starting a war without such impetus

As far as I can tell, the only ones mentioning WW3, nukes and apocalypse are the West, not Russia. They simply laugh at it. So much propaganda of it from the West. Even in games, movies .. As if they want it. To doom the humanity. And Russia certainly doesn't have intentions on making this conflict any bigger.

Russia will only start a war against some serious future threat, like Ukraine, that could became what Iraq was against Iran, and both had the same USA support, problem is Russia prevented this. When USA want to destroy something they don't like they start supporting it's closest neighbor.

While a “nuke” may be excessive, this is a call of duty game. Also Russia has been known to use “false flag operations” so that part is not as unrealistic as one might think, just likely not to the level seen in the game.

@@ImStanto "false flag" is different than attacking their own country. Russia has never done that, it is completely counter to their whole identity as a country. The government has attacked its citizens without question, most notably during the Soviet U.S.S.R. but they have Mother Russia above any citizen. They would never attack their own country in itself as a target, at least intentionally.

Folk theorize that it was originally DLC or an expansion for MW2. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true as the game felt rush and barely came out a year later.

Soyboy thought process. Whole franchise needs to just end now. Its completely fubar-ed. Scrap it, then pool resources to make a decent game for once in the last 10 or so years.

Those missiles are a callback from the original Modern Warfare.

Kinda funny how the Konni group soldiers equipment is reminiscent of the OG MW2 Shadow company uniforms... specifically the night vision goggles on the helmets and all black (or mostly black) equipment.

OG Shadow Company weren't full black. They normally had grey/brown/olive green vests and helmets atop their black uniforms. These Konni soldiers in the first mission are full black and successfully tricked the audiences to believing they were like Cleanhouse SAS or Task Force 141 (judging by the skin of Soap with the same gear)

I remember it was hinted in some reveal trailer that you play as Crown in the first mission. Perhaps they also have Russo-British operators loyal to Makarov or simply British mercenaries under Makarov's employ

Gotta admit the start of the story fits very well for reboot and some missions where Makarov wins the battle (the 3 missile mission) Not all the time the good guys wins ya know. Original Makarov proved that through ZAKAEV airport and kidnaping russian president, killing soap by the C4 rigged at their sniping nest. Tearing Price's world piece by piece, the reboot is no different but more on the psychological side In here however has a slight alternative NO RUSSIAN which is still dark

You’re sadly mistaken. OG is more calculating and intense he wouldn’t toy with TF141 he didn’t see them as a threat at anytime. The reboot is hunting them more than his plan which leads him to failure he is taking it personally. The original has no care for human life and even in his final moments acted not as a human but a vicious animal. The new Makarov is a squirrel compared to the original mad dog killer for the highest bidder.

Its because of Crown. Whats Crown you ask? Its a Western PMC that is also a Koni affiliate. one of the main problems of this game is not explaining things clearly, Crown is not even mentioned in the campaign but in MWII DMZ of all things
