The Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.
The Yamaha RX100 was powered by an air-cooled, 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor that produced 11PS @ 7500rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The company also claimed a 0-60kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Yamaha RX100 was not only reliable but affordable as well, making it accessible to many. The performance and reliability factor made it a winner in the eyes of enthusiasts. In fact, the Yamaha RX100 became one of India’s best-selling two-stroke machines, until it was replaced with the RX-G.
The part that makes us spring with joy are the rumours of Yamaha reviving the RX100, but with a four-stroke engine instead. However, our excitement levels have dimmed down as there has been no official confirmation from Yamaha as of yet. So, till we get a solid confirmation on its comeback, we can only wait and anticipate that the RX100 will once again revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment. TVS Victor now competes with Yamaha RX.

The low beam problem is because of bulb replace it and it will be fine . just fixed it in my 135 as well.. Wish every 2 stroke lover gets a professional guy like chotu bhai in their city ... love ur vdos..

I also have RX100 4 speed, when I'm riding my bike in high RPM the sound is breaking, like something is blocking the flow from exhaust it is only happening in high RPM, this problem comes after the restoration, no engine works done

Bro in my opinion rx is legend bike I own one in super condition. I am 6feet tall and bulky as same but the RX100 feel too much small under me and light .so at end I don't recommend rx for you in terms of looks but for full filling your dream you can go ahead
70 -80 pe 100 khatam hota hai meanwhile 135 5speed wah se suru hota hai.hit like if u agree 💯

Hi brother, Good evening just wanted to ask you that my old carb float pin usally gets stuck and my bike stop working, it works but on the same time it gets stop, I have to open the carb remove the float pin and refit again but generally in a month it gets stuck, as my float pin is bad now, as you know that new original float pin for rx 100 carbs you can't get nowadays, can you ask your mechanic that can new carbs from mikcarbs for rx 100 can we use is it beneficial. Also this mikcarb carb is different from your mikcarb carb. The performance would be the same or it gets down. Waiting for your reply. Thanks 😊 🙏

How to increase the pulling power of RX100? When I’m going with my RX100 without doubles(only one person on bike), it goes smoothly and I can overtake the vehicles, but if I go with doubles(two persons on bike), it is hard to overtake and in acceleration. What do I have to change? Even when Iam riding single the pickup is not good If anyone knows the solution please help me by suggesting

Try to switch on your headlight when the bike is moving.. switching headlight on ideal mode & giving full race might be the reason for bulb to go off

Who else thinks the era of 2 strokes is long gone..any normal four stroke like a pulsar or KTM will beat the Rx anyday..plus no issues of running behind mechanics and searching for parts..
