The Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.
The Yamaha RX100 was powered by an air-cooled, 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor that produced 11PS @ 7500rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The company also claimed a 0-60kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Yamaha RX100 was not only reliable but affordable as well, making it accessible to many. The performance and reliability factor made it a winner in the eyes of enthusiasts. In fact, the Yamaha RX100 became one of India’s best-selling two-stroke machines, until it was replaced with the RX-G.
The part that makes us spring with joy are the rumours of Yamaha reviving the RX100, but with a four-stroke engine instead. However, our excitement levels have dimmed down as there has been no official confirmation from Yamaha as of yet. So, till we get a solid confirmation on its comeback, we can only wait and anticipate that the RX100 will once again revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment. In not understand hind so i have one doubt after rebuilding 1st time put mineral oil done 1000 kms and drain and again semi synthatic oil . Its crt ? Bro
Well explained about different type of oil concoction but do you recommend Nulon as advised in previous, after rebuild

yes you can use but I haven't used so I can't comment its benefits.

@@SpeedyLio Recent engine work done with change of clutch plates etc...I mixed oil with nulon in the sump great performance a low 5 ml in petrol tank too as new piston was fitted just to avoid adverse friction works well. Thanx to you for great informative video ...cheers

Hi I’d like to know more of your disk brake setup….Also is it recommended to add a 5th gear to the RX100, I have just restored mine.

it is gladiator setup. 5th gear is direct fit and it will reduce the stress on engine but seeing the prices it is not worth it.

Good morning sir, How can we put fuel gauge meter in old model bikes like Yamaha Rx 100 , CD 100 and also rpm meter can you pls make a video on that so our thoughts will be clear regarding this Thanks

unfortunately there is no option for fuel gauge, but you can install rpm meter with some alterations
Do you recommend restoration of yamaha when Govt order to scrap bikes over 15 yrs or any insight if RX will be given status of " Vintage" bikes being the most formulated till now

After watching your all videos, I was inspired to go for 1 rx 135 5 speed,, I rebuild that bike by my own ,, but engine got seized in under 200km because I was driving that above 110kmph.. very informative video ..

Main toh 20 to 30 km ke under chalata hoon 4 din hogayi cylinder boring karte huye can i ride in this way till i reach 1000 km?
Can we configure the power box in rx100, basically which comes in rx135. 1)Can you provide content on power boxes?(pros and cons) 2) whether it suits for rx100 or not ??

bro meri yamaha rx 135 mein 100 no piston chal raha hai waise full care karta hun bike ki all ok but in future ishke baad 125 no piston sahi rahega kya kyunki uttarakhand mein sleeve ka kaam perfectly nahi ho pata

Mene 1 week pehle meri suzuki max100 ka engine rebuild karaya hai ( first time since 1999 ) par abhi bhi usko choke dekar chalu karna padta hai aur engine bohot jyada garam ho raha hai aur smell kar raha hai . Mechanic ne mujhe 30 ki speed se chalane ko kaha hai aur bolta hai piston raunce hone me time lage ga . Bike itni acchi nahi chal rahi hai uske kaha hai 15-20 din ke baad bike sahi se chalegi .Kya usne engine ka kaam sahi kiya hai ?

abhi sabra rakho or bike ko stand mein start karke choddo piston jab dheere dheere apni jagah le lega toh problem bhi kam hoti jaayegi abhi mechanic ne carburetor set kiya huwa hai jyada oil jaane ke liye ishliye starting problem bhi aati hai

Speedy lio bhai, aaj maine apna rx 100 me pura engine ka kaam kiya hai, piston change , crank ka free play ka kaam hua hai... Bike to mai 40 kmph me chalaunga, double carry kya kar sakte hai? Engine ka piston aaj hi change hua hai.. unsleeved G1 bore .50mm piston currently , aur mera 2t pump kharab hai, mai premix me chala raha hu, 1 litre me 20 ml ka oil daal raha hu

Bhai maine engine rebuilt karvaya aur 500 km chalaya , engine me thoo mineral oil he tha , parso maine semi synthetic oil dalvya , chalega na? Aur gaya 69 km ke ride par matlab 138 km aur Maine meri rx 135 ko 60 km/hr ke andhar he chalaya , thik hai na?

koi dikkat nahi maine bhi apni rx 135 ko engine ke breaking period mein 170 km tak bhi long ride pe chalaya par har 60 km ke baad 15 minute ka rest diya ab 1500 km chal gayi sab ok hai bindaas chalao or speed 40 say 50 km/hr rakhna

800 km tak chalalo tab karwao maine bhi apni rx 135 ka yahi rule follow kiya tha or speed 50 say 60 km /hr rakho or kyunki new piston ke metal particles engine mein aa jaate hai or phir oil change karke service karani padti hai

Lack of knowledge u give wrong information. Actually engine rebuilt me new metal parts kaha se aaye, gearbox to purana hi hota ahi sirf bearing new hoti hai. Metal gisane ka sawal nahi ata, ek baat hai ki new bore kiya hai to piston ko set hone ke liye time lagata hai. Aap itano dine so rx use karate ho fir bhi bike ko aur engine ko sahi se samajh nahi paye aap
