Teach, i loved tht you allowed him to speak and NEVER interupted him. Great interview. Many do not allow others to speak-ah just pure interuption. Major is a great interviewee.

I have been listening to Major Mackerel since the late 80s Silver Hawk sound system days. His humor and maturity in dealing with his health issues is impressive. This teaches all of us to take health issues very seriously.

Sad to hear his story but am happy that he is still alive God is good always

@@TeachDem it is a journey my friend and you have to be on top of things just by knowing the feelings with in the body and you have to keep testing the blood sugar to see where it is at, stress played a major factor right there too and another thing the doctor's in Jamaica they quick to amputate, they did want to cut off my brother leg and we said no and the man is quite fine right now with both legs walking ok🇯🇲🇺🇸

Facts.

Real entertainer. Nice to see he's thinking positive despite his circumstance. Also, he remembers to show gratitude to those who supported him during his time of need.

Great interview Teach! As a diabetic, one has to completely change their diet. Certainly cut-out the high complex sugar and carbohydrates(bread, starchy food) because carbohydrates converts to glucose (sugar), eat more protein and green vegetables(for iron intake). Make sure you keep monitoring your blood sugar level at least twice a day and lots of exercise. Finally, get your regular check-up and you will live a long healthy life. Folks! we only have one life to live, let's live it to the fullest in good health.

@Mr Lex If he had stopped the drinking and changed his eating habits it could have been reversed,,,,the thing is we like the quick fix which the doctor gives( Tablets) ,,the one is diagnosed with Diabetes the things do it change your eating habits, exercise and detox your body time to time,,its easy I've done it never took a Tablet. Man I’m in my early 30’s and I’ve been diagnosed with this same diabetes killer and it runs on both sides of my family too. Our Jamaican diet facilitates this killer and we need to wake our people up to this from preschool. Guidance to this legend, long life, health and strength...

Mr Lex I know the mental struggle. My mother just had a toe amputated last year and her mother lost a few toes before she died from diabetes donkey years ago. My paternal grandma died of diabetes too about 7 years ago. I keep glucose monitors with me everywhere I go and check A1C every three months. I also completely changed my died and exercise at least 5 days a week. These lifestyle changes really keep me in check but it’s a lifelong commitment.

Artiste back in the 80 never no the business side of the music dem nuh get much producer rob everything artiste do song and never hear it play in jamaica producer tell him song nuh release yet 10yrs after artiste a hear say song get 1in Germany Italy France Japan more anuh like now where u ave social media back then nuff artiste get rob by producer only ting some get is a big chain two ring some clothes.
