If you're not in pain, why do you need hope? If you have hope, doesn't it mean you're in pain at the moment? They can't be separated - hope is just one of the ways you can approach pain.

Only God Allah☝️ helps in accepting living in this country .. If it was an opportunity to leave the country, I would have fled from it This is because of the occupation, sabotage and destruction that occurred as a result of the intervention of America and Iran and their occupation of Iraq

James Garner No I disagree, I think it does the song justice. At least in my perspective, these people are doing the things they can, to feel free. To me, it actually is the same thing that drives the creators of Major Lazer on, that raw tenacity to work in an unconventional job for a living is difficult. Most of these people showcased are dancing, hustling, boxing, and just trying to make it, and we see the good and bad side of it. There are moments of despair and worry written across people's faces. Idk, I like that, and towards the end I am left with the feeling that no matter what people will continue on doing it. no matter what.

I found this song today and it somehow catches my mood. After working hard for 6 months, my season opener was far from what I thought it would be like. I feel defeated, aimless and a bit frustrated at the world right now. Yet I still believe that there has to be something more. I’m still dreaming and I’m still fighting. This song gives me that feeling of being in a hopeless situation, yet dreaming of something better. To quote Oscar Wilde: «We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars».

Jamaican culture roots from AFRICA. RYTHM and Dance just a different art form. FACT!! This video talks about being free. It demonstrates being free through music and dance the only way most 3rd world people can escape from their troubles and political corruption . Jamaican culture has been watered down due to acculturation. Thid is when different cultures mix I. E. Western culture. Being black is not a colour is an act through customs and traditions. HOW FREE IS THE BLACK WORLD WHEN THEIR POLITICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY controlled by the western world. Freedom is in the mind and the soul. Politics and society have put a barrier on how far you can rise. But once the mind is free u can rise higher. Freedom is a right not a gift.

Love life Music demonstrates to be free. Not different just a form, music is a a release of individuality not to be judged. We are on a road together till the levy gives in. Your right being black is not a colour, all my life i've been wading in, water so deep, wondering if it will ever end, how long till we have a friend. The west has no culture, blind the population into hate. Imagine if all this was positive...the power, we could all be free, without "dreams" but reality and eternity.

Essa música arrepia. Atemporal. Ela traz sentimentos fortes.
I don't normally make a post, but I must for this song. I've watched this video time and time again and it still resonates an unbelievably strong feeling me. This song alone made me love major laser. To some people, this is a good song, average, an ok song, a one time listen...i understand why they would say that they haven't lived and experienced Jamaica like few...but to people from Jamaica, words bearly sum up what this video is and means. It's not just another video and not just another song, major laser here has just created art in it's truest form. This art can easily sum up the life (all experiences, knowledge, pain, love ups and downs) of most if not all the Jamaicans of my generation, as hard as the feat is. Just lost for words every time I watch this art. I would sit in a room with friends, people, strangers, all will watch and as they watch you can look around and see the expressions on their faces, some say it has a nice beat, some say they like the singer's voice, but you will find the one or two captured and captivated by the art, as if someone was telling their whole life story. Not a word you will hear from them, as they sit in deep silence reminiscing on the feelings, the experiences, the life...this video brings back as they realize in that very moment that everything can be all summed up so eloquently.

Yeah I'm from jamrock. The people I know who've seen this video feel very sentimental, emotional, proud and happy to name a few feelings. As noted before, thats just a few people I know but it wouldn't be an off guess to say most Jamaicans in our generation to be specific that wouldn't feel the same way. It's true what you speak, because if you've lived in Jamaica the imagery that's shown says so much along with the lyrics. Jamaica is all this mixed together, politics, violence, sadness, hate, class division, love, happiness, joy....life. that's why Jamaicans (again from my experience) who watches this has a rush of varying emotions. Because the song (lyrics) and the video (imagery) touches on so much that I've said and more. also the feelings might be the same but the experiences can be so polar in another person's case or the exact same. I think it's what makes Jamaicans so unique, why we can go anywhere an be loved.

Crying, inspiring, the music just makes me want to be the best version of all of me that I have to offer. I will always be a fan forever!
Dunno why this song didn't become popular in France, maybe because young french only want music to dance on in shitty club. My favorite from major lazer btw.

I love the color grading. Nice vocals, too! Beautiful voice combined with documentary style shooting makes you get a silent impression of the people. The grading creates a solemn environment, with people seemingly having fun and others staring blankly, looks of what seem to be despair on their faces.

It was, 300 times a day for a month. Then NEVER again. That's how a lot of radio stations kill a good song, and beat a bad one like a dead horse lol.

FYI Jamaica is like any other place. For each bad place Jamaica has there are also good parts. And Jamaica is not all blacks. You'll be surprised to find a good population of whites and Asians that live there and go to school. Jamaicans are highly educated and the education level there is a lot higher there then in certain countries. While your kids are learning elementary school work in elementary, kids in Jamaica are learning high school work in elementary. Crime rate there is high but not as bad as people portray it to be. Before being hypocrites actually study the place and actually visit it. You would learn a lot from doing that. Don't just go on what racist ignorant people say.

so why is Jamaica not a world superpower with it's super high education rates
@erickmaldonado7676

First of all no country has such power. It's impossible. Second off you don't need power to be smart. Thirdly there's good education everywhere but I stated specifically that Jamaica is more then what you think so before you go by word of mouth actually take your time to visit and experience the place.

Phill Powell Erick Walters said that kids in Jamaica are doing higher level education at the same ages as other countries. Then why is the message of this video to try and get people out of poverty. If the statement about education was true then surely poverty would not be such a large problem in Jamaica
This video used to scare me to death when i was young, cant help but loving it rn, just art
One of the most original chord progressions in music today. Beautiful.

@@balitripwisata6812 we are happy despite the struggles. These struggles make us stronger and encourages our creativity. The thing with Jamaicans we always find good in the bad times. We have a saying "tek and things mek joke". You cant focus on the negative all the time else you will never be truly happy. Happy does not equal rich btw. Sometimes money as they say bring about more problems. I would never leave Jamaica for another country. I dnt have ppl harassing me for the colour of my skin, I can walk around and feast on the many fruit trees for free, you will never starve. But the simple life isnt for all. Money for some people equals happiness.
