@@HarleyBreakoutGuy Totally agree. That's how I feel with Mohini Dey's playing. Not only is the groove completely gone, the melody is also gone. And often these machine gun slappers cannot even maintain tempo in their attempt to play extra notes.

Julia is always faithful to the song. EVERYTHING she does fits respective to the original without stepping on it. Those ghost notes are absolute perfection. Can you really call this a cover compared to the original, any original (Dua Lipa, et al.)? Her fills, HER FILLS are truly inspired. That a 20 yr. old can have such an artistic connection to anything is truly amazing. I`m glad she picked up the bass though, and not a paintbrush or a sculptors hammer & chisel, or even worse - a guitar. Did I mention that I like what she does?

I can't believe the sound you are getting out that Sting Ray. Perfectly balanced across the strings. So many professional studios fail at mixing the bass guitar and your mix is so much better than most pros.

By far my favourite overall. There are some bassists on KZread who are technically more skilled, or who provide content this is more deliberately entertaining / meme-like. But I'm yet to come across somebody who can play a narrative like Julia

Why do I never get tired of listening to Julia play the bass no matter how many times I’ve heard the same song before?

it is wonderful how you speed up with your fingers, really a high speed now. But I like that you don't do it like many men, who just focus on showing that they are "the fastest and coolest", you do it step by step and so it looks natural, cool and effortless. Julia's musicality's like that modest in a way, but uncompromising genius guest at the table. Even egos are laughing, conceding without realizing on their highness. Then curtain and silence come but that soft touch still rings in every minds.

There are a number of really good female bass players on YT, but Julia is the queen. Her technique and feel for the song is unmatched, IMHO.
