Maize Chopping Baling and Wrapping in one pass | New Holland FX60 & Agronic multibaler NI'J Holthoes

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

To make the process of chopping and baling easier, Beef cattleI farmer and contractor NI'J Holthoes from Winterswijk made a unique one-man construction in which the baler is behind the chopper. Normally a tractor with a baler drives next to the forage harvester
Baling maize is ideal for small scale farming as you don't need a large silage silo or pit. Also a bale is not that big and it is used up before mold comes in. So every time you can have a fresh bale to feed the cows.

Would it? This method eliminates several tractors and silage trailers. Obviously it still has to be hauled, but there's much less pressure to get it all in right now, unlike the conventional method. We do our own chopping into a dump wagon and trucks, but I do like this concept.

I love this concept. Silage is chopped, packed (baled), wrapped and sealed all within minutes. The very best full-scale custom operators with pits/piles/bunkers would have the silage exposed to air for several minutes after chopping, until the next load comes in. This stuff would begin fermenting almost immediately while eliminating a lot of the labor required with conventional chop-and-haul methods. It might not work very well on large farms, but for smaller operations it looks great. And I'm sure the plastic doesn't tear easily as long as the operators/handlers act sensibly -- if it did, no one would be doing this, because even a small amount of oxygen exposure would cause severe molding of the bale.

It’s amazing how far farm machinery as come since I was a teenager cutting silage and hauling it to the silo. Rolling the silage saves a fortune in storage facilities. You can store the bails just about anywhere. No more expensive silos to build to store extra food for your cattle. I doubt that plastic wrap is cheap though.

i really like how pragmatic brilliant ideas are handled in farming. That baler was like someone in R&D tinkering "If we take a one of our field transport cars and let it feed directly into a baler and have a wrapper behind it, we have compact system, optimizing the product flow! I gotta get in contact with the prototype-shop!" and it was born. then a farmer said: "hold my beer, i don't want to be reliant on a 2nd man and tractor, i will simply fumble a PTO gearbox to my Forage harvester!". There will be enough cons, why this isn't the gold standard solution for everyone, but it is a working solution born by out of the box thinking without annoying idiots talking everything into the ground.

Great to see the real farming machines when I play the Farming Simulator games the machines work just like these do... great gaming design and programming there to copy these amazing real machines so well. All you need with this baler now is a auto stacking round bale big trailer to catch the bales as the exit the baler and stack lots of them up in a mesh sided trailer Maybe a idea for future trailers using a robot arm doing the stacking?

Maybe so if you own a silo. If you do not, it makes the feed portable and might be cheaper than building a silo. An ag bag would be cheaper, but not as portable. I am thinking this would be useful for a farmer who may have a number of small fields miles away from their cattle operation - too far to run silage carts down the road.
