KRONE Pelleting press - Premos 5000 (2019)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In presenting the Premos 5000 (Kalverkamp system), KRONE is once again making a powerful statement of its innovative performance: The Premos is at the same time a mobile pellet harvester and a stationary pellet mill that harnesses the huge potential of straw, which is abundantly available in the fields around the world, and presses it into top-quality, high-fibre pellets. These make ideal bedding, animal feed and fuel.

    It's an interesting piece of equipment. One thing that always bothers me with sales pitches like these - Straw chopped and left in the field is not "unexploited". Removal of the straw takes away nutrients that then need to be replaced with fertilizer. Unless the farmer spreads manure back on the field, the organic matter is nearly irreplaceable. Farmers that do not need the straw for their operation need to calculate whether or not selling the pellets is cost effective.

  • @rrmtnfarmer3273

    @rrmtnfarmer3273

    4 жыл бұрын

    A lot of farmers sell the straw and usually brings in much more money than the added fertilizer costs. As for the organic matter you are correct that it can't be replaced unless you fertilize with manure.

  • @farmerboybill

    @farmerboybill

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@rrmtnfarmer3273 You are right. that's why I said the farmer would have to work it out. I live in an area that has a lot of livestock production and straw is in demand for animal bedding and feed. I still chopped my straw back on the ground due to concerns of profitability, until the past year. I had my rye straw big square baled and I sold it off for $65 per bale. That is good money for 600 lbs of straw. Otherwise, it benefits my operation more being spread on the field. Now, in Europe where they're trying to get out from under the thumb of needing Russia's natural gas. Maybe burning off their biomass and trying to replace it with synthetics could pencil out. Right now the Germans are literally destroying villages (look up Hambach surface mine) to get to brown coal, and this is definitely better than that... Probably don't want to get into global politics here, though.

  • @rrmtnfarmer3273

    @rrmtnfarmer3273

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@farmerboybill very true, each operation is different and needs to do what works for them. The organic matter is definitely a big plus to leaving it and that's something each farmer has to decide whether to take it off or leave it. As for the global politics, you are definitely right about not about on here because you never know who will read our discussion and get offended by it. I will definitely look it up though.

    So far we don’t have problems with rocks. Normally the machine doesn’t pick them up due to the slow forward speed in the field. Second protection is a rock separation between Pick-up and first belt. If a rock makes it into the machine, it is crushed by the rollers or it stops the machine - depending on the size of the rock. The rollers are made of such a hard material, that no serious damages are expected.

    For today standards on large farms 350 is about the average and is actually even on the small side now.

    Let’s be honest: 5% of people are here because it looked cool 5% are here because there a farmer. 90% of people here are here because they have straw harvest in FS19 and they clicked on this because they were curious how the thing works in real life.

    I personally think it's better as a stationary mill, especially cuz ya can bale the whole crop in 4x4 bale faster than what the mill can process in the field...

    @benjamindejonge3624 yea, doing 5,000kg an hour is nice, but it's easier to bale the crop and process them later, especially if ya have really big feild.
