Спорт

Les, Dan, Dave and Warren talk strange appointments, EFC players on Countdown, as painters and decorators, and taking on a Nazi XI. Plus deadlines, signature dishes, fashion, and more.

If we're totally honest, Carlo Ancelotti coming to Everton was a strange mangerial appointment. Don't know how we pulled that one off.

Given how it eventually turned out, Everton probably should have got Moyes back at that point - don't think the club would be in the mess it is now if they'd done that.

@@TheBlueRoomEFC Can't agree with that one mate. We more than anyone know about the dangers of bringing back former managers with Kendall's endless failed returns. As for Moyes I didn't like the fact he'd been talking to Man Utd behind our backs during his last season, run his contract down after stringing us along about signing a new one, and us then getting zero compo off one of the richest clubs in the world. I think our fans would have been outraged at the time had it come out we'd brought Moyes back and turned down one of the greatest managers of all time when we had chance to get him.

i suspect bayern might've gone for kompany for the same reason arsenal went for arteta, i.e. they see them as pep disciples.

Could well be right. Seems like a huge gamble give the time Burnley had last season.
