My mother passed unexpectedly when I was 13yrs old. She was on her way to see DreamGirls with my grandma ( her mother ) while waiting for her in front of the building she and her two siblings ( also myself we moved when I was 13yrs old and she was 33 ) I was visiting my dad in Independence, Mo ( I was born and raised in Harlem, NY and my dad in the Bronx, Ny.. I met my dad for the first time a week after my 13th birthday..) Long story short I heard this song for the first time today in a movie about Mahalia Jackson named Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story.. Smh took my breath away and tears came to my eyes.. God comforted.. I knew God and my mother was with me.. Jesus His anointed has proven themselves to me.. I'm in my 53rd year of life. When I say I FELT this song 😃 that's why i'm here now.. R.I.P. For me, it was known as "the funeral song" for obvious reasons, and all I could see for several years while hearing this song was faces of my dead loved ones lying in a casket. Today I decided to face that fear and remember those loved ones not only for my last viewing of them, but for who they were in my life totally. Today I am grateful....beautiful song.
