One of most impressive songs of this 70 yr old white man's lifetime sung by the best vocalist of said lifetime. Unbelievable in the depth of lyrics and talent on display, this rendition by my favorite artist growing up never gets old! RIP Sam Cooke, like Bob Marley missed but never forgotten!

Sam Cooke had an amazing voice, and the song is so powerful. But the photo of the enslaved young men, in chains, is what had the biggest impact on me. I tried to look away from their faces, but I kept being drawn back. Their faces moved me to tears, and broke me. I’m moved, and heartbroken at the same time.

I used to live around the corner from where SAM left it all! motel at corner of 92nd and Figueroa. If he had to do all over again, he would have let her keep his pants I ALWAYS THINK. Oh, the spurt of the moment actions many of us take. I've long taken to responding to situation in delayed manners, be it with my wife, police,,. Oh, I used to drive LAPD crazy but pausing 5 seconds between response has changed my life. Much Love SAM!

This song and its content/meaning took my daughter to Dartmouth and Harvard from the ghetto of Los Angels. Sam wouldn't let me be as he kept singing for me to attack opportunities and seriously play my part in the Change that I wanted to see. Sam remarked after making this song, "My father be proud of me" My father/parents be proud of me-too SAM, thank you, thank you,,,
