    Sounds great. Did you so the airbox lid delete too. I did it for mine and it makes it sound really good without buying an exhaust. You do have to rejet it for that though.

    And if anyone is wondering. Quick and easy way to gain some power and make it sound better for free is to take the airbox lid off and rejet it to about a 155 to 160.

    I get too much air without the lid and with how much water I play in, I prefer keeping it on lol And yes I definitely had to rejet. I went from a stock 140 main jet and 40 Pilot Jet to a 150 main and 42.5 pilot. Engine was too lean and was popping like crazy on deceleration, but that went away with the new jets. Also had a decent improvement on acceleration and top speed, would recommend 👍

    150 main jet and 42.5 Pilot Jet is the sweet spot. Stock setup was 140 main and 40 pilot Right now I'm running 155 main, but I find it a tad too much when using the stock airbox.

    @@FredRobich Okay, that's good to hear. I've got a 425 magnum I just bought and the dumb thing has a stuck oil ring, it's a project I knew that when I bought it but I had it running long enough to ride it and it's my first polaris so I didn't know if that was normal. If you just pop it into gear it goes fine but slowly it grinds like you said. Although, as soon as I put it in gear it takes off by itself although still idling, just like an auto car. You can put the brakes on and stop while still in gear, is that normal? Or is it still supposed to sit still by itself while in gear? I just want to figure that out and make sure the tranny is fine before I go rebuilding the motor. Like I said, my first polaris, I don't know what's normal.

  • @FredRobich

    @FredRobich

    @@smokeybandit4910 It shouldn't take off on idle, might be because your idle is too high or somethings up with your clutches. Try tuning the idle with the idle screw underneath the carb and see if that helps.

  • @FredRobich

    @FredRobich

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@dylanrex3441 yeah when I bought mine it also said sold separately, this model has one. Removal is straightforward, 4 screws that hold the exhaust tip which also holds the baffle core with 2 screws. There's also a spark arrester that can be taken off. When re-installing reseal the tip with heat silicone. No power loss after removing quiet core + spark arrester, sounds way better and it's not too loud (for me anyway lol). My biggest improvement was rejetting the carb. I used a 150 main jet instead of stock 140 and installed a UNI single-stage air filter. It no longer ran lean and top speed went from 44mph to 52mph, pretty good for a 20-plus-year-old Polaris 😂👍
