I really hope they don't make him evil later on. This redemption path he's taking reminds me of Megatron becoming an Autobot in the comics. I love villians like these.

Yeah, I agree. His heel-face turn is the most powerful thing in the series . . . and OMG, that freaking scene slaps hard. Resetting Magneto would only diminish this, I don't even give a damn about whatever the comics did. In fact, I would say that comics tend to have too many cooks in the kitchen and tend to reboot and retcon themselves for a reason. This show needs to be allowed to run with this, whether or not it's actually comic-accurate. Relegating him back to 'business as usual' would only hurt the series going forward.

If memory serves right. In the original Animated Series, he's backstory isn't tied to WWII. Xavier said that: "Remnants of the old army that has so brutally occupied his small country returned, attempting to retake it". And the army depicted are not the Nazi's at all. They're wearing green. It was in later series, as well as the films that the holocaust was restored to his backstory. I guess that story element was considered too extreme for Kids Show censors at the time. I could be wrong though.

My man's tits are supposed to be out, they CENSORED his outfit SMH. (To be clear, I'm joking, but if you've never seen the original version of this outfit you should definitely check it out, Magneto's pecs were just sticking out of the sides of it. It was ridiculous, iconic, and while I'm sad this take on it isn't QUITE as silly I'm still happy to see it.)

Yeah, he's NEVER lied, NEVER manipulated anyone, and NEVER done anything cruel or barbaric before. They're not being sanctimonious, they're being lawful. The moment he had a collar on, all they had to do was to shoot him in the head. Instead, they're giving him a trial. Which is more than HE would have done had the roles been reversed. Magneto isn't trying to be better. The only reason he's doing isn't because of desire to better himself. He's just aping Xavier out of friendship. Let's stop treating him as having even a fraction of Charles' morals, especially THIS version of Charles.

He knows that the key to justifying his cause is to preach for coexistence while biding his time to achieve mutant supremacy and crush the humans once and for all. Gaslight people into sympathizing with him before going full force in his sinister intent.

I liked how it took every fiber of his being to try and step in Xavier’s shoes. Using arguments to appeal to humans while still recognizing Mutants healing

I am wondering if they might go “X Men vs Avengers” since they did imply that there might be crossover. Definitely not AvX, like Cyclops isn’t that zealous yet and that even marked the beginning of dislike of Marvel team crossovers in mutant affairs. Like Rogue got her power from Ms Marvel (Carol) and Wolverine did work with Captain America (who also saved Magneto from the camp and strong opponent of anti mutant policies).

They did that all the time in the original. Heck. They literally had a spiderman crossover episode and snuck spiderman into the xmen at points in partial shots.

I may watch this more if this is version of Magneto aware that him, mutants and humanity are being manipulated by an alien pantheon wanting to enslave their world so they can put their OWN version of their species there. Can't remember the exact comic but it was a thing that was badly written due to being holiday-rushed.

I’m all for Magneto being a good guy (good enough) but if he’s not the bad guy, who is? Did he mention anything about the Brotherhood of Mutants?
