    Note to everyone. Magnesium oxide is very poorly absorbed. If your supplement pills have it listed, I would question the quality of the rest of it.

  • @samuk9

    @samuk9

    Жыл бұрын

    It’s true that magnesium oxide is not as easy to render soluble as some other magnesium salts. It’s therefore not absorbed as rapidly as other forms of magnesium, e.g. magnesium citrate, gluconate, lactate, aspartate. But although magnesium oxide has a lower rate of absorption it contains a MUCH greater amount of actual magnesium to begin with. More than what is provided by other magnesium salts. Therefore, even with the lower rate of absorption, magnesium oxide still delivers more magnesium per tablet. So more magnesium gets into your bloodstream to deliver all its many benefits to your bones and body!

We recommend ionized magnesium (citrate, ascorbate, glycinate) for their specific benefits and ease of adjusting dosages to meet individual health needs. Each form targets different aspects of wellbeing, from digestive health to calming effects and immune support. While transdermal methods are effective, oral supplements offer versatility and precision for personalized health goals. What is ionised magnesium doing different than non-ionised form of magnesium?

  • @DrSusanBrown

    @DrSusanBrown

    8 ай бұрын

    Ionized magnesium differs from non-ionized forms in the way it's prepared and how it interacts with the body. Here's what makes ionized magnesium unique: Enhanced Absorption: Ionized magnesium is typically in a form where the magnesium ions (Mg²⁺) are separated and dissolved in water. This ionic form is believed to be more readily absorbed by the body compared to non-ionized forms. The separation into ions makes it easier for the body to transport and utilize magnesium efficiently. Bioavailability: Ionized magnesium is thought to have higher bioavailability, meaning a greater proportion of the magnesium you consume is absorbed and utilized by your cells. This is important because magnesium is involved in numerous vital bodily functions, including muscle contraction, nerve function, and bone health. Alkalizing Effect: Ionized magnesium may contribute to the body's alkaline balance. It can help counteract excess acidity and promote a more alkaline environment within the body, which is associated with various health benefits. Reduced Risk of Stomach Discomfort: Some people find that ionized magnesium is gentler on the stomach compared to non-ionized forms of magnesium, which can sometimes cause digestive discomfort, especially in high doses. Potential for Better Cellular Penetration: The ionic form of magnesium may be better at penetrating cell membranes, allowing it to have a more direct impact on cellular functions. While ionized magnesium has several potential advantages, it's essential to note that individual responses to different forms of magnesium can vary. Factors like personal tolerance, specific health needs, and preferences play a role in choosing the right magnesium supplement. Some individuals may prefer ionized magnesium due to its potential benefits, especially if they have had issues with other forms of magnesium. What is amino acid chelate magnesium?

  • @DrSusanBrown

    @DrSusanBrown

    2 ай бұрын

    Amino acid chelate magnesium is a form of magnesium supplement where magnesium ions are bound to amino acids. In this chelated form, magnesium is attached to amino acids through a process called chelation, forming stable complexes. Common amino acids used in chelated magnesium supplements include glycine, lysine, and aspartic acid. These amino acids serve as carriers for magnesium, facilitating its absorption and utilization by the body.

    The recommended daily amount of magnesium for humans can vary based on factors such as age, gender, and life stage. As of an update in September 2021, here are the general recommended dietary allowances (RDAs) for magnesium: - Adult males: 400-420 milligrams per day - Adult females: 310-360 milligrams per day It's important to note that these values can change based on updates to dietary guidelines and research findings. Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions, including muscle and nerve function, bone health, and energy metabolism. It's commonly found in foods like nuts, seeds, whole grains, leafy green vegetables, and legumes.
