do you know of any sources or lists of things that come from closed practices that may not be too commonly known? I've seen a few things and added them to my grimoire and then later found that they were part of hoodoo or native practices and I don't want anything like that to happen again

Honestly it just takes a lot of googling and research, I don't think anyone has made a master list of closed practices, but I'm sure there are a few lists out there.

@@jordandubois1854 you (anyone white reading this) should also do some introspection about why you want to draw from other cultures because even though something may not officially be a closed practice (because it was developed pre-colonization...) doesn't mean you should engage in it. for example the way so much of new age spirituality is essentially just bastardization of hinduism and buddhism. sure, those practices are open, but it's still disrespectful af when white folks appropriate them because we were punished and our people ethnically cleansed - literally murdered and cultural genocide - and our indigenous, ancestral practices were banned for us, until white people realized they could steal them for themselves. like yeah it's open but.... it's not for you lol. there are magickal practices in european cultures too so you should do your research and rely on those.

Hey! Ilysm your such a hella vibe. Im a bb witch of two years and I….work with the fae. (I am aware of fae etiquette and know the fae can get offended easily). I usaully put offerings out but they never get taken or vanish. 2 days ago i was in my backyard with my friend and (she doesnt work with the fae) Idk if she was lying but she said she saw a black shadow in the corner of her eye. Then we started hearing rustling in the bush close to us. So i grabed milk and honey, mixed it together and put it near my fae garden (i also put green adventurine around the milk & honey). This arvo i went out and checked on it, the jar was knocked over and the adventurine look abit out of place, also i put jam sandwiches there and THEY WERE GONE, should i put more milk and honey out? Idk if it was a possum cus i live in the forest BUT YEH PLS HELP ME!

Hmmm... Maybe open the windows and put the offerings on your windowsill? Or somewhere the wild animals wouldn't go to. But it's ok for wild animals to take faery offerings though, faeries usually like animals. :)

Hello man I'm reaching out to you I need help I went to sweat lodge and our medicine man shaman spiritual leader spiritual interpreter said that somebody has my hair and a picture of me and I can feel the effects of it my my daughters I have five daughters and one boy I lost a daughter due to this person who has my hair and a picture and I'm very hurt by it and I am a Lakota Sioux and I know these things are around me but I never thought it could happen to me what can I do to protect myself can you help wipe it off can you protect me can you undo what they did they have a picture of me and my hair and I'm a single father and their mom has some dark things about her even the medicine and the shaman the spiritual leader interpreter said that she was taught a dark way and I felt like she was put in my path to slow me down by whatever is working against me my heart is always been good my love for my children and myself I constantly have an open heart open mind so that I can teach them and I know these things are out there but is there anything you can do to help me please I did like and I subscribe and I'm reaching outside of my Lakota traditions to see if there's anything that I can do and maybe he did help and he didn't explain much but I want to go to x tomorrow because I constantly feel like I'm being attacked being stopped and I can feel my blessing stopped and there's a lot more I would hope and love to come into contact with you message me or possibly call but thank you for your time and I hope you get back to me
