They also make little temp gauges you can stick inside the refrigerator for telling optimal temps.
Thanks for the video. Got directed here from Forest River site. My fridge has been working great for a year and then mid trip started having issues with the freezer holding temp but not the fridge. Going to pull the thermostat when I get home to see if the factory screw went out of adjustment and loosened up over time with rotating the dial. Or I’ll adjust to try and get it back where it should be! Sad these units don’t have factory offered parts.
Great upgrade and video- well done!

Glad you think so!
What’s the part number for the factory thermostat?
Awesome

Sorry, I no longer have the camper.
😮 where can I get the wire racks for the refrigerator shelves?
Great video and walkthrough. Do you by chance recall what gauge wire you ran between the controller and the fridge?

I don’t remember it’s a reel I’ve had for quite some time…probably 18ga or so
Well, I just drilled a hole where you drilled yours and a gas escaping noise started. I hope it isn't my refrigerant. I am going to plug it up and see if its still working.I hope I didn't drill into refrigerant...It is my refrigerant. I cant see where I hit a line but apparently I did. When I put power on it, gas shoots out of the hole I drilled.

Awesome. Are there any wires near where you drilled the hole? I need to do this to add a recirculation fan.

Not that I could tell. Just do it at your own risk!
This is an old video but great! Did you power your thermostat from the fridge power input box or from the relay input box ?

Ah never mind. realized the instructions were the back of the new thermostat so it makes sense ...nice work
Can you share the dimensions of the opening that the fridges sits in... just curious if it would be possible to replace with a Dometic unit...

So I’ve done a few measurements with the same thought…the only one that will fit would be the CRX 140S, basically the same cubic feet but shorter as the freezer is not separated. It would give enough room for a little more storage above the fridge
You set the temperature for the refrigerator, but what about the freezer?

This model does not have a separate setting for the freezer
Thanks for this. But what about the freezer? If I set the fridge to 38, how do I set the freezer temp?

I have the same fridge in my E20BHS, but my issue is that the refrigerator won't get below 45 degrees. You mentioned that you can adjust the factory thermostat. Is it pretty obvious what to do if I open up the thermostat housing? On mine the freezer is plenty cold enough to freeze ice, it's just that the refrigerator is not cold enough.

If you pull off the housing, you’ll see a small flathead screw. Adjust that in tiny increments (maybe 1/4 turn) counter clockwise (I think…I can’t remember which direction 😅)

@@ProjectBasecamp I pulled the thermostat out and I couldn't find a flat head screw. There is a phillips screw with sealant on it. I'm assuming that is the adjustment. I have the fridge running and we'll see if the temperature is adjusted. Thanks.

@@johnsteczkowski1527 let me know if that works. I'm doing the same for mine. BTW what was the part number on your thermostat?
@johnsteczkowski1527

@@1985AW11 WDFE26N-L2 - I think that is the part number. I'm no sure I'm turning the right screw. It was at 47 this morning. I turned the screw 1/4 turn clockwise, this morning I turned it 1/2 turn back counter-clockwise, I'll see if it changes the temperature by this afternoon.

I think I have this resolved. The freezer know is turned to 4 and I'm at 38 degrees. I'll see how this works for me, maybe I'll switch to the digital thermostat in the future, but now I have a fridge that will keep cold enough that food doesn't go bad fast.
