I agree with u about the paint job. For what Mafex charges for their figure's u would think they would do a better job on the paint. Great review.👍👌👏

@Heavy Assault collectibles I've been collecting these Mafex comic figures ever since Deadpool, and that one was fine...but after that they've all been excessively riddled with sloppy paint apps, bad stitching, glue residue, marks on the plastic, etc. Overall, hasbro has way better QC than these $100 (which not that long ago were $60 domestic cost) figures. They have the best engineering, best designs, best accessories, so why are all those issues like the sloppy paint such an issue? I mean it takes well over a year for each figure to get released, with constant delay after delay...but that's another story. Seems like that's enough time (along with the much higher price compared to a couple years ago), for them to get 'em right.

@@Chalor. Are you sure it wasn't a bootleg? they go for $20 or $30 and they are good for the price and sometimes hard to tell there fake.

Robin is a tad small, though. I imagine Carrie to be in her early teens, around mid- school age. This one makes her like a Grade 3 kid.

A tad small compared to other robins made but completely on point for the source material. Excellent work I’d say.

I'm shocked Carrie came with her slingshot, it _is_ a projectile weapon and DC *HATE* projectile weapons.

I used a Gundam panel lining marker to fix the bat symbol on this guy and on the animated batman. Worked like a charm.

Holy moly I bought the other two Mafex Dark Knight Returns Bats figures and the paintjobs are a thousand times more precisely applied, thank god. If I spent the kinda money this two fig set cost & the paint came out this wobbly I'd def try pestering for a better replacement. This is awful. Have I been THAT lucky with previous Mafex figs?? Sometimes the legs get a bit loose but never such slipshod paint applications!

Well, your copies were probably pretty standard. Unfortunately I'm an anal retentive artist that notices every single detail. With the exception of a few, I've bought 2 or 3 copies of every Mafex comic release...with the hopes I get a standard okay copy. But I didn't order 2 of these. I got mine in today, and I don't even wanna open the package to see what they look like. Like maybe I'll just inspect them via a light on from another room.

I read your comment before getting to that part of the review, so I was expecting something *much* worse & different. Overall, the oval symbol isn't that bad compared to others I've seen. Most look very asymmetrical with the right side not being painted in at all. Yellow is a tricky color to blend, but I think in this case it wouldn't really be noticeable as long as you decently enough match the yellow. Naturally, you just pray that the main issues you have are black paint related.

U could make custom dock Grayson with they carry Kelly body for a mafex Batman

They do look good and can't wait to get them. But that sucks I hope it isn't across the board with the paint app thing. And it shouldn't be an issue on a 150 dollar 2 pack lol. Snd they'll give Bats here a couple of knives but guns they still have an issue with lol.

2:49 Pretty funny that one reviewer thought this was their "punk rock" look 🤣. Like, nah man, that's called gravity. And I just don't remember the solicitations showing Carrie Kelley so teenie weenie. They look to be about 4" tall. I'm pretty sure they weren't 4 feet tall in the comics. The scale between them looks accurate to the comics, just doesn't translate well into figure form being _that_ miniaturized.

What's crazy is just a few years ago they retailed for $59.99 on BBTS. First one I got was ESB Fett. Then I think I paid $65 (domestic cost) for part 2 RoboCop. But once the comic figures started rollin' in, the price just skyrocketed up to around a hundred dollars 😲

@@TheEdorizo Yeah, and my allure for those faded pretty quickly. I loved their DKR figures and most of the earlier ones, but just lost interest, while they gained a cult-like status among the community. Most have that short stocky midget big head syndrome look. It's something all the One:12 collectors don't even acknowledge.

As a waist articulation enthusiast, I completely disagree with you. If it's import I'll get as much quality out of it as possible.

The elbows on robin can look a little ugly

SJW and toy production doesn't go well together. WB needs to wake up from their "woke" no guns nonsense.
