For me this is that 70s Batman look I always wanted despite it being a 90s comic story. I grew up reading those 80s Neal Adams stories so this guy is a dream come true.

Here's hoping we get a Black and grey version or all black post Knight fall version. Also they included the capeless cowl to create the comic right before his confrontation with Bane where he had to swim in the sewer to save the Mayor. The cape was wrapped around the mayor and giving him a few minutes of air.

The irony of sirens going off in the background when posing Batman 😂

Been waiting for this. Only D's posing can do a beautiful figure like this justice.

Pointy shoulder cape parts is to go with the head wth long point ears in homage to Kelly Jones - the cover artist for that era. The normal head and cape pieces are 100% Jim Aparo. The promo pics didn’t seem to understand this but the sculptor sure knew what they were doing!

I got mine a couple of days ago from Hobby Link Japan. I hope Mafex does a 90s Tim Drake Robin, 90s Catwoman, and 90s Nightwing.

I will grab the Tim Drake fig whenever that gets announced. Hopefully we get a 90s Dick Grayson as well. Its hard to believe that we didnt get mechanical grapnel launcher until the 89 film debut. I love how theyd throw these lines and swing over the city...no problems ha ha.

Ahhhh those poses are giving me so many 10 nights of the beast memories.

This guy looks excellent, glad that there's an option for a normal cape look. I'll for sure be going for that one if/when I pick this guy up.

My heart breaks every single time Mafex releases a new comic book inspired Batman without a single damn Robin. Imagine how this would look with an original Chuck Dixon era Robin or the Black Hush with a Jim Lee Dick Grayson Robin to make an All-Star look. God damn you Mafex. Just make Robin PLEASE.

Breyfogle is so underrated. Also, Stelfreeze. It does give me a vibe of a lot of the artist you mentioned. It also gives me the Kenner super powers toy vibe, due to the colors. Hope they make a Superman Wonder Woman etc with more vibrant colors to match this figure. Great video

The next Batman from this mold should be the justice league version with the all black suit.

I like this version but Knightfall had a lot of very different artists. This figure resembles the Jim Aparo version at the beggining but I would like them to release Norm Breyfogle and Graham Nolan versions as well.

That's another figure ordered because of D Mazing.

How far we've come ... compared to hush. It's the exact same body except the abdomen piece - same trunks, legs, arms. But worse neck movement, worse torso articulation and a cheaper looking/feeling plastic. This is kind of a miss from Mafex. We haven't come anywhere other than an old body 90% reused and the new stuff resulting in worse articulation. The package is almost devoid of accesories. This release feels mostly phoned in

The cheaper materials is likely to get the right moulded colour rather than painting it. I have to it get it in hand to be sure. But It does look beautiful. I have said the same thing about Mafex milking their old Spidey body mould constantly. But yes, hopefully with Bane releasing soon, we will get more unique and new body moulds. They also need to upgrade their articulation. The amount of accessories is just the luck of the draw depending on the character and storyline as Mafex try to stick to the source material rather then being more inspired and liberal, like Mezco and Revoltech are. Hush Batman, Gambit, Magento get a fair few.

Sweet! That may just be the best classic 6-inch Batman ever made.

I for sure would love to have this figure because I dig this Knightfall Batman figure from MAFEX with the blue/grey and these head 2 sculpts but I will just get the McFarlane black/grey since I don't have the budget for all MAFEX, But great review.

Norm Breyfogle did the pointy shoulder Batman, he is one of the pencillers of Knight Fall, Aparo drew most of the art in the issues

Is it just me or did they reuse the legs and upper arms from hush batman (the lower arms seem very similar too maybe they took the digital sculpt and just changed the glove fins), Im not a long eared batman fan either, if anything I would have rather they did away with the rebreather head and instead gave us an angry expression of the short eared head and instead of the no cape neck piece they gave us a grappling gun or batarangs. Great review as always D

personally I like longer ears.

The baby pacifier head sculpt sucks, should have been an open mouth yelling/screaming head sculpt. Not a fan of the long ears nor the shoulder spike cape. Breyfogle art sucked imo.
