Been a while since I covered a Mafex figure of the Dark Knight, and wouldn't you know it: the Knight Crusader Batman from the Knightfall comic just dropped! Is it the definitive Batman figure from Medicom or do they still have yet to perfect the formula compared to other versions?

Mafex are far better. They look better, they have better joints, and they are actually worth the price. Most of the DC figures that Mafex has released, are FAR better than their competitors.

24:14 Hey, the waiting comes from overpaying from US places like Big Bad. I started pre-ordering from AmiAmi about five years ago and never looked back. Pay under a hundred shipped, packed well in very sturdy boxes; and once shipped, it just takes two days to arrive at your door from Japan. *As long as you pick DHL, you'll be getting that item _waaaaay_ sooner than your standard company.

Mafex destroys McFarlane. I’m not sure how people can see the Mafex and think McFarlane stands a chance. McFarlane articulation is sooo bad. I love Todd as an artist but he needs to go back to the drawing board (forgive the pun) when it comes to designing figures. I get most people don’t wanna shell out $70 for a figure but Mafex brings characters from the page to our hands. They are hands down the best comic book action figure company today.

It’s literally people see the 25 vs 90 dollar price points and can’t believe people pay 100 dollars for a single figure. But in reality they’ve probably just never owned a Mafex so they don’t get how much better they are genuinely. I could watch 20 videos on a Mafex figure and it still can’t do it justice to how good it really feel in hand. They just see it as the same character but ones cheaper

While mcfarlane didn’t do it to the tee in terms of the knight fall design it easily outclasses the mafex batman in terms of build, colors, face sculpt and PRICE. The mcfarlane figure I HAVE has a smooth and detailed face sculpt as well as a magnificent paintjob for the bat emblem. The mafex has some pros like the shoulder cape spikes, the longer bat ears, and the wired cape along with its perfectly spiked batcape ends. However i customized my mcfarlane figure by buying a wired cape and it made the figure pop out so much more, i constantly look at it on my comic shelf and pose it all the time and to me is just the definitive look for batman. $60+ for a few cool details while lacking in major areas and details is just not worth it to me and you just cant beat that $20 price.

the Mcfarlane is fine if you just want your figures standing there. Mafex is great if you want to have your figure in dynamic poses or do figure photography. Most collectors don't get into posing like that so I understand why more people would prefer the $20 figure over the $65 one. But if you are one of those people who enjoy figure photography then this Mafex is an incredibly fun figure with tons of pose potential.

No sane person would ever put the McF figure over Mafex in anything. Anyone who actually has in hand figures from both companies knows how things actually are. The guy is trying to convince himself that Mafex is not worth it for a "few details" and "lacking" in "major" areas.

@@qqqqqq4352 “no sane person” yeah no sane person would ever spend $100+ on action figures when its not necessary and when they dont want to. I collect statues more than figures but I have 7 different mafex figures that i absolutely love while ive returned dozen’s because they just werent worth it. Mafex does a lot of things right like articulation, extra accessories, and detailed sculpting and yes easily outclasses mcfarlanes cheap and lazy designs but thats not every figure and not every figure is going to meet everyones standards or tickle their fancies. This mcfarlane batman figure is their best figure to date and just looks like my definitive version of batman which is why i love it, my biggest problem was the cape and i fixed it with a custom cape. If i bought this figure im 90% sure id still have the same opinion and return it, if the extra $80 is worth it to you go ahead more power to you, it just isnt to me 😘.

In my opinion, Mafex is really lazy with their design, they're clearly reusing body molds and it doesn't work with this particular Batman. Knightfall Batman was clearly slimmer, not skinny, but not your usual buffed out superhero. Everything with the Mafex Batman is too proportional, bulky, and stocky for what Knightfall Batman is supposed to look like. McFarlane Batman clearly proportioned their Knightfall Batman much better, slim torso, long legs, long arms, and broad shoulders, but of course there are some flaws. More defined muscles, longer cape, and longer ears is all that the McFarlane Batman is missing. And not to mention the price cannot be beaten, spending $60-$120, depending on where you're buying a Mafex figure from, is just downright outrageous, especially considering the fact that almost every toy they make has parts reused of some kind. Overall, for what I am getting I'm choosing McFarlane all day. Edit: Just to be clear I am not a Mafex hater, I own most of their Spider-Man figures, which I think their best work! 😊

A claim such as this can only come from someone who only buys McF. There is not a single aspect that is comparable between Mafex and McF. The gulf in quality regarding everything is just too vast. Looking at pictures or videos doesn't really show the small details that you will see when having it in hand. The feel of the plastic. The engineering. The way every joint moves. With McF you move the joints as if you're breaking wood. With Mafex its like skates gliding on ice. Its the smoothest feeling joint. The articulation. The silhouette of the figure. McF has the ugliest cuts of every manufacturer. The knees, elbows, legs are very unrefined. The sculpt of the Mafex is beaitiful and the outline it strikes while posed is top of the lines. How every line and joint flows. AmiAmi has this for just 55 euros plus another 13 or so for cheap shipping, if people are interested.

The Mafex figure looks like a microman figure with all the weird cuts of the shoulders and the torso. McFarlane's sculpt is brand new and they made a dedicated sculpt that represents Batman from the Bronze age through to Knightfall, striking a pretty good balance of that look. Whilst Mafexs is a rehashed reuse of their Hush figure for the most part, looking more like Knightfall Batman if drawn by Jim Lee which just isn't accurate at all, so you get this odd looking hodgepodge. The cut of the joints and the sculpt just looks better on McFarlane. The joints themselves move really nicely, I have no issues with them and are pretty much on par with Mafex for the most part, even beating them in some areas, sans the torso crunch going forward, though it's good on the McFarlane Knightfall Batman.
