Looks like a rocket when dialed in correctly. That boost by gear and flat floor shifting as nice things. With some extra work this car is going to be a surprise on the track.

the only thing i would do differently is that i would not flat foot shift the 1st and 2nd gear, to much torque :/ 3rd and 4th is okay

Those flat foot shifts with the heavy clutch, boost purge, and tires crying, sounds VIOLENT! Quaife sequential would be nutso.

Misha must have driven pretty many cars with broken clutch to be ready to do that so fast. I would have figured out the same maybe 10 seconds slower.
The way he keeps looking at you like, “you’re gonna burn up the clutch” and then you did. 😂 Amazing car

@cumbob the cut isn't programmed to a specific time it is set with the clutch engagement sensor or clutch switch, whichever you wanna call it. Edit: you can also do it using a strain gage on the shifter.

@@fabioribeiro5071 honda has won multiple rallys with the civic type r and jazz as a fwd. they also had the rallycross civic which could do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, though im not sure that won anything.

This car is a rocket! Unfortunately flatfoot shifting will kill a clutch when hammered like this too often. Often seen in Saburu STI's.
The shaking of the dash footage really adds to the raw K20 experience

Really think the feedback you give these guys is very good. Very diplomatic and gives the builders some ideas for improvement whilst not being negative about the build. Great stuff.
Shame of the breakdowns, looked like a good shakedown for a WIP ringtool always love a good k20 screaming on the nordschleife ❤
I dont know why but everytime I hear Misha speak dutch it just warms my heart knowing he can communicate with us dutchies in dutch :D great lap all around!

Misha, never stop uploading these. You are the only channel I watch daily. Can’t get enough of these laps and the different cars. Some day I’ll bring a car down
k series is the best engine made imo. The amount of cfm these heads flow is nuts. Its why they can respond to just bolt ons so well n/a and make nearly 300whp. And why they can make such good power boosted. Alot of guys in the usa run these for drag racing and have proven the bottom stock rotating assembly unopened no head studs just dead stock hold 600whp. They tend to get valve spring issues around this hp level some have made 700whp with springs with the bottom end stock. Most impressive engine imo. Thats like a 4.0L v8 making 1200whp stock unopened lol that can rev to 9k. If you follow neurtron engines he is actually building a k series v8. Hes very close to having it ready. His will be fully built and will have 4piston billet heads estimated to make well over 1200hp boosted. And it will rev to 11k

Heavier duty valve springs, some drop-in cams and then just the regular intake and exhaust change with a decent map and the K20A2 will push 270hp NA, rev to 9,500rpm and just live with it all day, every day. The K-series is an unbelievable engine. It’s no wonder people are putting them into absolutely everything these days.

The gearbox on this thing is heavenly. What a little beastly pocket rocket. Amazing build
I love how Misha has no problem taking other people cars to the limit. If you are the type of person that babies your car, I don’t recommend giving it to Misha for a lap.

One of the things i've learned in life is to see other people being happy, enjoying what they do and you Mr. Misha, is one of the pleasures of life that i've learned to enjoy. Thanks for sharing, even when this is your job, the way you do things is what the community likes, i can bet that is what we love.
I love the added drama of the shaky gauge camera. ❤ I think it adds to the emersion through the screen. Love it!

I don't think the gearbox is supposed to be abused from 2nd to 3rd flat out on the gas, just for those race situations when it would really make a difference. 3rd to 4th looks different, more space to use it more often. Incredible drive and build 👏.

First time I’ve ever seen flat floor shifting and it looks awesome. Still sounds like it’s murderous on the clutch but if you can go through gears without lifting the gas that saves seconds on your lap times for sure. Just RIP clutch 😅

Yeah I'm not sure it's worth it having that enabled unless you're doing time-attack, the clutch was probably saving the gearbox from becoming toothless.

Flat foot shifting is actually part of the ecu remap. The ecu holds the revs for half a second for the gear change. This doesn’t damage the clutch as it shifts during perfect conditions. With out a remap the revs will rise to redline. This is not the same as forcing a gear change on a stock ecu. Hope this helps you understand. I have this set up on my type r fn2 along with auto rev match on downshift. That’s the beauty of fly by wire accelerator instead of cable. Lots of things can be done on the map.

Just like chemistry in the connections we have with other humans, there's a chemistry in the connection we have with machines. Hearing Misha laugh with glee a few times early on tells me that regardless of what it says on paper, there is chemistry there. This was fun to watch.

Actually surprised it lasted as long as it did, whatever gearbox/wotbox/clutch setup he had was pretty stout! Misha wasn't hitting the smoothest ffs but on a car to it's limits I probably couldn't do it at all unless on a straight 🤣

Love the way Mischa looks like he's drivin' Miss Daisy! 'til the clutch master cylinder let go and the throttle signal failed! Great job though - obviously felt comfortable with it as was proper cuffing it (as we say in the West of England). Needs 4WD though, 460 BHP through the front wheels only is lunacy.

What a wonderful, aggressive and perfect drive
Pretty sure the flat foot shifting didn't work more than half the gear shifts. Maybe that's because the gear indicator gets confused whenever the car leaves the ground or has slip. My guess is that the ECU is calculating the gears based on speed of the rear wheels and engine RPM. Then when the flat foot shifting doesn't work because of that you let the clutch fly at wide open throttle and the engine in the limiter. That would fry most clutch systems in no time flat.

K20 Honda is one of the best engines ever
I used to have one of these cars, although it was more stock than fixed up like this. That is why I got rid of mine too. Fun to drive but something was always breaking, usually with the clutch.
Hope he comes back when the project is fully finished, so we can see a good full lap 👌🏼

I have always liked this idea. "I have found a good chassis, so I will put a totally different and much better engine in to give the chassis the power it needs." I'm a big advocate of the UK built MG ZS (based on the Honda MA8 platform.) but it was never offered with the power to match such a brilliant handling car. (177bhp V6, great engine but not enough in stock tune.) Someone put a 300bhp 1.8t 20v VAG engine in one and suddenly the chassis came alive. Was hassling all sorts of cars on the track!
