If I may sir. A brass end cap on the handle would bring out more of the wood grain plus keep the wood from splintering.

Nice, though that's more akin to a kukri than a machete. If you can, try doing a blade in copper san-mai. With a twist pattern, I'm sure it would come out spectacular.

Beautiful knife, my only concern is the epoxy on a smooth tang, I would have secured it a little better by drilling holes in the tang or making a barbed tang for more adhesion ... I've seen epoxied handles slip off... Besides that it is an incredible piece 😎

That 90 degree cut on the tang will create a major stress point and it will fracture there. Always radius your inside cuts.

What is the white substance sprinkled on the metal before putting in the forge? Is is something that promotes slagging? Great video and end result. Always doing a great job!

I am a bit skeptical of the forgeweld of coated bolts. I see it happen, but I have minimal faith. Guy has skill but I wonder if it is a bit misguided. No. I’m not “that guy”. I assure you I have done as much or more forgewelding than most.

I wonder why it is a miracle for some folks, when blacksmith make a knife out of something, what has been already steel of some sort? Steel is the material what blacksmiths use to do things, you know? If this guy would make a knife out of seagull crap and ass wipes, that would be a miracle. If you use steel of any kind, shape or form, that is what they do day by day..

@@turalibrahimov662that's hardening not tempering. Hardening on its own makes a blade very hard but also easily breakable. Tempering retains the hardness but adds more strength into the steel. Tempering realigns the molecular structure of the metal to eliminate the stress caused by forging. You can easily snap a blade that hasn't been tempered.
