Yeah, it's really sad how he turned out. His friend dating his ex-girlfriend is a bit awkward. Maddox is only human, so I guess he might struggle to move past that. But making a lawsuit? He should have just shrugged and moved on with his life; nobody would have really remembered it. Although perhaps Maddox's problem was that he wasn't as popular as Dick once they split up. People grew out of Maddox's early internet humour, while Dick Masterson's type of humour is still popular.

I agree in general, but that's not even the problem with Maddox. He has programming experience, and he just needs to get a high enough score on the math GRE to get his B.S. in math. I'm sure his fans have even offered him jobs over the years. It's not like he can't get a real job; it's that he refuses as a matter of principle. That's the fatal flaw we see with him time and time again. He makes up his own misguided principles and refuses to budge or admit he was ever wrong.
