What the hell happened man? Why can't comedy just continue to be this? its fun. Its funny. It was relevant of the times. Why can't we just have THIS? So many people notice how ahead of its time MadTV was. I also appreciate little things like the sketch where they were the Swedish band. A song was created for the show, they wrote a sketch, pre recorded it, then played it before forming the made up song live.

I never noticed it before how they transition over to the next skit. They reference a name or a situation that has something to do with what's about to happen in the next skit that is about to come up. Example would be in the first skit the Scared Straight one they mention the name Tiffany and then right in the next skit the guidance councilor room the girls name is also Tiffany, or even at the ending last skit after the party room skit theres a big party going on with Lorraine.

I feel boomer energy in this comment...as if...we are becoming boomers by demeaning the concerns and complaints of the younger generation? Born 1988 by the way ;) don't get me wrong the 90s were great...and things are only getting worse...but...food for thought? --eats a chocolate wafer, sips on lemonade, glares into your eyes--
Mo Collins as Lorraine is beyond hysterical!
If I could just combine the madtv Eddie Murphy Universe with Dave Chappelle's Rick Jane Universe we would have a super sketch.
Mad tv will always be the best..they had the best cast thru out every season..gosh it sucks it died out.

It's great to have these to reflect and greater to know we had such great material to come together around and lack in these current days.

I remember I had brought this first generation iPod from a friend it had all the mad tv and Dave Chapelle shows on it and I lost it running home trying to get in before my curfew 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Hoppy Potty could perform at Eurovision and nobody would bat an eye. 😂
Its so funny I can't help but hear Lois anytime Alex talks
Kenny Rogers invented the death drop….unintentionally. You can tell how old this episode is since prince William isn’t bald.
That Eddie Murphy bit is so true. The song has a sad melancholic melody, fitting for a guy to sing about a girl she lost. It is not a party anthem...

Wow. Debra Wilson as Catwoman is giving me.....feelings.
MadTV is amazing
Every Friday id watch this with my folks lol
I never noticed it before how they transition over to the next skit. They reference a name or a situation that has something to do with what's about to happen in the next skit that is about to come up. Example would be in the first skit the Scared Straight one they mention the name Tiffany and then right in the next skit the guidance councilor room the girls name is also Tiffany, or even at the ending last skit after the party room skit theres a big party going on with Lorraine.
Man this was really family bonding back in the day when daddy used to work 6 days a week sometimes seven but mama had dinner ready by his off time and we all just sat down wherever we could in the living room watched this and shows like in living color and ALF .... the best times of my life. I'm 29 now.🥰
The Fun Room Sketch to me is pure gold for that one part where they reference Dafoe and Shadow of the Vampire, right down to one of the iconic scenes and the line from it 😂 whoever wrote that bit is an absolute legend!
