For macro shooting you do not use the focus ring to focus ! You use the focus ring to turn to the desired size of image you want and then you move your self with the camera a tiny little bit until you hit the perfect focus !

I have the APO 50mm f2 Z mount for 4 months but I decided to go for the 65mm now and I loving it's bokeh on my Z7.

Hi Guys thanks for the great stream , would love to see a longer macro 150 ~ 200 mm with 1:1 on the road map. Have both 105s F & Z both great lenses but the Z is a bit special . Thanks.

Nice results for the non-macro shots. Looking at the specs, it’s not even a true macro at 1:2 which also explains the minimum focusing distance being almost two times the Nikon 50mm MC. I find the easiest way to shoot macro on manual is setting the focus first and then moving yourself and the camera in a rocking motion to hit focus. Lately I’ve been putting my Nikon MC macros aside and been shooting a Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO which does 2:1 and is challenging but it does produce nice results when you get the focus right.

Hi Happy Couple. I have seen several of your KZread Voigtlander exposé and am now seriously considering purchasing the 50mm f2 APO and 35mm f2 APO for the Nikon Z cameras. is there a short telephoto, 85, 90, 100mm AOP coming out of the Voigtlander stable for the Nikon Z mount? if so, when will you be reviewing in, if not, then you should recommend to Voigtlander, to get their stuff in gear. I am all Nikkor lenses up until now, so a want a travel set up, the magic three lenses for the Nikon Z System.

Sorry what is the reason to use other brands except the Nikon native lens?

A harsh, but good point! Personally, the new Voightlander lenses makes me feel prouder about Nikkor ais lenses. They also fit into Becky and Kon’s pro film vibe.

Different look, feel and quality. I’m a Sony shooter. But this Voigtlander is a superb lens. It’s a better lens than the Nikon z 50 macro.
