Machine Learning Model Development Life Cycle (10/30/2020 Friday)

This is the 4th Power lecture series from NCSU INFORMS Student Chapter.
The event will focus on developing Machine Learning models for making real-world decisions. It will talk about the process and approach required for value realization from the models. The discussion will be followed by a workshop focusing on the Machine Learning design considerations for real-world business decisions.
About the speaker: Dr. Balaji Gopalakrishnan has over 20 years’ experience in the Machine Learning and Data Science space. He has helped set up and lead cross-functional data science and engineering teams in multiple organizations for developing cutting-edge machine learning and cognitive computing capabilities in fraud, underwriting, revenue management, and marketing. He is passionate about putting cutting edge AI to practical use and strongly believes in the power of cross-functional collaboration for AI adoption in organizations. He has a Ph.D. in Algorithms Combinatorics & Optimization (ACO) from Georgia Tech and an MS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He did his post-doctoral research work at the Institute for Mathematics & its Applications (IMA)."
