Let's just take a moment. Whether you just found this song, or been listening to it since it came out like myself. Let's just acknowledge we'll more than likely never hear anything like this from "Kells" again. Let's not forget the real STRUGGLE music, and the blue collar Midwest kid he is, ......at heart. That's what makes it hit different, not this Hollywood "rockstar" he's become. I respect the transition, but this is where my heart, and hopefully Kells is as well. We need more like this. It amazes me the struggles MGK fans have come through, and I love seeing how his music unites and heals people in their pain and struggles. I started listening to him straight after getting out of an abusive relationship. It's been really healing, helped me to regain a sense of positivity, strength and belief in myself. I lost a lot of close friends because it changed me a lot. I went through a lot of emotional turmoil and stopped being a doormat to people who used guilt trips and mind games to get me to bend to their will. Because I went deep inside myself and decided not to be the person I was when I was with my ex. A lot of friends didn't like the fact I was changing as a person. Some just didn't like the way I coped at first, getting drunk/being emotional. It hurt that friends I knew for 12 years or more blamed me for what I was experiencing and said insensitive things like: "well you chose to be with him, so whatever happened to you is your fault." I ended up realizing a lot of my friends only liked me when they could control me, make me small and have me be who they wanted/meet their needs. When I was going through something and learning how to get back the real me, most of them ditched. So MGK'S music has made me feel like someone is there who understands what it's like to go through trauma, be doing your best to cope and recover and having people doubt or hate on you for it. Because your recovery means you won't be who they want or who they can control anymore. Things are heaps better now. I've achieved things I never thought I would. Have a job I enjoy, been holding it down. Been using NLP and CBT to work through my stuff. Sometimes I get triggered and have a week of terrible anxiety and flashbacks. But I continue to move forward and remember whatever fleeting moments of anxiety I face now and then are worth being free from him and all the kinds of abuse I went through. I'm on the path of recovery and things can only improve So I'm happy.

These past three years since my brother died have been so hard that times like right now im crying so hard I can barely breath... MGK has been my strength and my hope. I don't give up because of his music. I find strength and inner power and hope because of his music. I'll never stop fighting to get myself to a point in my life where I'm happy again, because I Fucking deserve that. My mom is dying and after her ill have no family left except my dog. Between her and MGK, I honestly feel like I have a army at my back. Your words really touched my heart. I’ve been in the hospital for eight months and then have had over 20 surgeries hospital operations. I haven’t seen home for like a 8 months And I thought I was going through cause I’m just being told I’m gonna have to be hospitalized again for the next 3 to 4 months, so I’m never going to see Home in a year Everything will get better for you if it hasn’t already
