Really cool battle! For battle #50, I feel like some famous ancient rivalry like Rome vs Carthage or a Roman Marian era civil war battle would be fun

It’s such a shame because I had a awesome Roman civil war battle replay to show you all but the update probably threw it off. I’ll triple check but otherwise I’ll probably try and redo it

Well done to both players, I love to see pikes. It is my opinion that to make a pike line work, you need overwhelming cavalry and missiles to draw the enemy into the pikes.

If you compare both of the armies kill counts you will see that they aren't all that different from eachother, meaning that the sab'a army must have routed the macedonian one, thanks to its cavalry superiority. Those arabian noblemen are just 👌🏻

Kills can be a bit misleading but you definitely make an interesting point. I’ll try to emphasize that as I note kills.

@@nietzscheankant6984 I know Rome 2 isn't 100% historically accurate, infact it unfortunately goes by western mainstream of everyone's barbaric "non-Roman" and Greeks and Rome were only civilized nations and everything is Hellenized. But looking at a more non prejudiced way, like Germanic, Celtic and many other eastern factions had the most beautiful civilizations and when it came to armor/uniforms they had very unique and beautiful styles. But unfortunately we are stuck with what we have now. Cataphracts have been around since Babylon.

Towards the middle of the battle there were quite a few gaps I didn't take advantage of with my shock cav. I think in this kind of army sarissa lancers>thessalian cav, cause they are faster and have arguably better charge. So probably should have brought them instead. The winning strat was Gio routing my general, kinda what Alexander did in his own battles 🤔

It would’ve been super tight if the cav didn’t get caught out, your elite units were so fantastic. I want to know how your pikes got so many kills too 😆

Cavalry is king, never fight pikes from the front, use your champions a lot! Good luck!

you don't need shock cav when you have the Agema pikemen. if you manage to flank with those the enemy unit is dead in 5 7 seconds. doesn't matter what unit in the game unless it's Space marines from 40k

What are the settings? I'm surprised they could afford full armies with some elite units on just ultra funds.

Funds are usually 22,5k. Although I think this was 24k

Just depends mate, as I said in the vid this wasn’t a tournament. For tournament replays I’ll be sure to include settings like the pay 😎

Actually if you look at kills, both Saba and Macedon had almost identical number of kills at the end of the battle. If Macedonian cavalry had made few charges instead of retreating, and if Macedon general had not been routed, which happened because Macedon had no cav at that time, this battle would have ended differently..

Same, could’ve been even more closer although I think the Arabian cav still would’ve won

pike armies just have to narrow the battlefield as much as possible

Definitely hard to pull off. I like to use them to just deny a portion of the enemy line punching through because I know in most cases they can’t get through them

He lost cause he kept running away from every cav fight and giving them the charge bonus instead of taking it on, if he did he wouldve had a chance or at least given enough time to get infantry support

It’s definitely a tough choice but I can see how charging the enemy cav would’ve at least done more damage. I definitely understand why he tried to pull out though. I really dislike the speed of the charge animation

Omg, that’s a username I haven’t seen in a long time ❤️ I still do play DayZ quite regularly, but it drives me insane so I’m happy I don’t make content on it tbh. Miss people like yourself though mate ❤️
