About to jump in 2024. Better this or Shogun 2 Master of Strategy mod?
I don't know the other mod but I imagine both are great with very different settings. It just depends if you wanna be in Europe or Japan, DeI is still fantastic and is still being updated/worked on :)

the ai have to recruit them first. anytime i give the mod a chance the ai keep recruiting hordes of barbarians instead like in europa barbarorum. idk why Rome would invade greece with mobs of barbarians . i remember in the campaign of greece in the game you cannot have any province where you can have roman legions you only get illyrians as option. so to me that was a nope i rather stick to radious than have the same struggle i have with europa barbarorum like 15 years ago.
It’s the Roman shield wall that’s hard to break down when engaging the enemy. They have a lot of protection and could rotate the front ranks for the next rank to succeed them so they are not exhausted at the front after intense fighting. A very disciplined body of men that makes them so effective

Hey guys, I just got this game and I’m struggling with combat. I try to flank the enemy by hiding missile infantry in the woods and melee infantry for support behind them then save my mounted infantry for flanking but I get swarmed OR I won’t have enough money to recruit because I’m not sure how to gain money in the game. Can anyone help me? From a fellow Rome & history lover, thanks!
I immediatly put my entire economy behind a 10 stack (and later 20 stack) of armored horse archers. Throw in every general perk and army tradition for ammunition/arrow range increase and upkeep reduction. An early game unit with 47 armor, 49 morale with tons of ammo, can charge cycle, is faster than infantry, and can fight in melee after routing half the enemy army with arrows...disgustingly superior unit to anything else and completely shrugs off incoming arrow fire. You don't need much replenishment if you only lose 40 units in a major battle.

In my recent dei campaign as Rome, i conquer all of Spain and Africa, except Numidia, but Rhodes as one of my Hellenistic ally, from their small island they successfully occupy all Asia Anatolia, Syria, and goes to Mesopotamia, now they fighting Parthia and I'm always continuously supporting them with money for war 😊, Why? Because Rhodes love me, but Parthia, never want to trade with me, and i need some of that rare resources

IT is indeed Hard with the Boys...but yday played as Colchis and OMG the Caucasian factions are kinda left behind form DEI team and is rly hard to play with them :P

Perhaps the capital hold out bonus would be useful for a semi-migration strategy. Basically keep a force just big enough in the capital for the AI to not instantly storm it and have a larger force go out and colonize weaker potential fall back zones like Crete or Rhodes. Ideally, if you can hold long enough, you can bring a force back from one of the conquered areas to relieve the capital, or just keep running if the capital falls.
I wish they changed all the faces to the Attila TW's ones. They're much better imo.
I play for the objectives but I hate how the game forces you to take some random province thousands of miles away from everything around you.
Just found out that Baktria infantry lose _badly_ to even garrison Greek hoplites, even in shield wall. Granted that was on very hard, but I doubt it would have been much better on normal.
Battle difficulty should be set to normal in DEI, otherwise this will happen as ai gets all sorts of buffs
Maurya are tricky to deal with as Baktria because virtually ALL their core infantry, at least in the early game, has a bonus vs elephants. I learned that the hard way.

I loved imperator augustus personally its an amazing campaign for someone who wants to jump into the augustan and imperial period without declaring war on 100 different barbarian nations.

@@blorblin No clarification needed friend. I WAS referring two the centurion marching next to the signifier at the front of both centurys of men. The ones with the sideways crest so that their legionaries can see them better in the fight..... just incase you can't pick them apart from the rankers in the the vid. 👍. So my original comment still stands.
Can anyone confirm if the cavalry diamond formation is true to its purpose?
I really like the roster and parthia in itself. My problem is the micromanagement. I mean i can pull it off but its so stressful. Against infantry arm ies its alright but as soo nas there are 8+ cav units in the enemy army aswell thing start to get messy. So normally i play until turn 60 n leave it. Sadly. Nice Overview Mate! :D
In the second part of the campaign there is a part where you buy units I finished that but then when u can do whatever I bought units until I had no cash and now I have to buy units as a part of the campaign plz help
