For everyone asking, every litre of concrete will be 2.3 KG.

thank you only concrete? Do you add sand?

This is just standard concrete from the hardware store. Concrete is cement with sand already mixed in. So, I wouldn't mess with the ratios personally.

Nice! I have a long round staff of pine with a 30 mm diameter. Long enough for two macebells. Thinking about using two one liter yoghurt cans for the cement.. With the opening against each other they have the right slope. That will make the cement into a double cone, thinner at both ends. At the top and towards the shaft. That will become a 5 kg macebell. Wood feels so much nicer in the hands than steel.

That's a great idea! I definitely prefer a wood handle. Although, I did produce a single run of steel maces with interchangeable heads. Let me know how that mace build goes!

cool. couldnt get a bamboo so im using a hoe handle. seems sturdy enough. also, probably added too much water (i got a concrete solution from a store, not an industrial one) and after 48h im not confidant enough to take it off. will also probably use a rope or something, after its done drying, to make sure it will not fall into my head lol seems to be working tho.

Nice! Send through a vid or photo of the mace. I'm interested to see it. The hard wood handles work well too. Bamboo just tends to be cheaper here. I use the hardware store concrete and I let it set for about a week these days (while keeping a layer of water on top).

@@CoachJoshWood will sure do! bamboos here (im from brazil btw) were kinda hard for me to find, most of them were just tiny ornamental ones. glad to hear about the one week drying period, will leave the gada there for another day at least. will get the rope today and paint it. decided to let the modeling pot there, anyways, for extra safety (im very concerned ahahahah). im in touch with some diy body builders here who have built whole gyms out of concrete to learn their secrets ahahah. gigantic dudes who have been building blocks for a while now. if it works out nicely i will probably be building some kettlebells too. eheheh

@@Blackhatmachine I've made them with and without the nails through the handle. I've never had one come off either way. Although, I feel safer having the nails.

Very similar. You're usually limited with weight of hammers and the shape of the head can cause some challenges. But, it's a good starting point.
