How to Build an Exercise Club - DIY Dudes

You Will Need:
2" Cap
2" Pipe - Any length but we had 18"
2"-1" Reducer
1" Pipe - Any length but we had 18"
1" Cap
(we filled the 2" Pipe with...)
1 1/2" slips inside the 2" pipe, 1" slips inside the 1 1/2", 1/2" slips inside the 1". They are all at 18" for us but you can use shorter if your club is shorter.

    I can't stress enough how good this video is! ...you could put a sponge before the cap, to avoid some of the rattling and moving around.

    Thank you Adam Burnham we will let him know! Yes, we were talking about him helping us out with a lot of fitness DIY stuff (Power Rack, Bench, Roman Sit-Ups Chair) and then eventually moving on to his own DIY channel where he can build a lot of non-fitness related things.

    Buff Dudes That would be awesome. I come to this channel for fitness (though I do enjoy the humor). The DIY workout equipment is cool, but I do feel like Buff Dad is being forced to build within the limitations of what one can do themselves while also keeping it fitness related. It would be nice to see him expand and get more creative with his ideas. I know that he is more than capable. Just my opinion. :)

    Dudes, I would really enjoy seeing a clubbell exercise demo from you guys & get your take on this type of workout. I'm using 10lb clubs for lower black surgery recovery & I replicated the exercise club Duke made. Thanks Buff Dudes & Buff Duke, love the DIY equipment.

    You can back fill the pipe with sand if you're looking for more weight.

    It is getting harder to find the larger-sized pipe because plumbers are using more plastic pipe, and the hardware stores are afraid that you are going to build a bomb.

    Alternatively, you can use a 3/4 inch pipe with a cap or a floor flange on the end and load it with standard sized 1" plates.

    The breakthrough is to fill different size pipes with quick fill cement or sand to create clubs that progress in specific weight increments. That way you know what you’re lifting, can track progress and improvement.

    honestly these are super cool and I just found out about them. Duke should keep doing DIY stuff for those of us who are actually not power tool handicapped. I really liked the battle rope from the fire hose. I mean amazon classics its like 20 bucks for a battle rope now. But STILL, it's really cool

    Buff Dudes Pleas, there are a lot of countries that use the metric system. Could you next time take the effort to also say the lengths in Meter/cm/mm etc

    Just made something similar but did some research on exercises first. The clubs fall into the same family with Kettlebells. This means if it hits the ground when your trying to do swings then it's too long. Also don't necessarily think heavier is better. I filled mine with pea gravel and they came in at 10 lbs a piece. The movements I found are great for shoulder mobility, neuromuscular awareness and really cranks down on your lats. They look and feel great though. Love this series and keep them coming.

    Buff Dudes, awesome video. I will be building this, thank you for the walkthrough. I will be adding copper painted hardware to really set off the flat black. Could I request something? I would love to see an overhead log press log to compliment those farmers carry logs. I just binged on a dozen buff dudes videos, keep up putting positive energy out there, dudes. Posting on multiple videos for increased chances of you seeing.

    I made one of these to add to my home workouts during lockdown in the UK. Absolutely love it. The only change I made was to make the 1" pipe 36" long so the final product is more like an Indian gada. It's great for 360 swings, and my shoulders are WAY more flexible now. Thanks Duke!

    @@samtjones666 In the UK we pretty much have to go to a proper trade supplier for stuff like this. I bought black mild steel pipes and fittings from www.pipedreamfittings.com - based on my experience I'd highly recommend them.

    @@gatovipfitness3215 I haven't weighed it, but I'd guess about 7kg with all the small pipes loaded inside. I also have a 10kg standard steel mace, but the pipe version is tougher for most exercises due to the extra length.

    I did my own modification with this and added another pipe to the other side and use it for curls (Used a 3 in pipe so it can get heavier)
