Mac has definitely not been ready for years. I'd say this season is the first season where I could see him in the NBA, but still. He's a massive defensive liability and he turns the ball over more than most g league coaches would like, let alone an NBA coach. For him to make the NBA he has to massively improve on his defense while maintaining his scoring dominance and he has to show that he can be a pass first point guard that doesn't turn the ball over too much. I'm rooting for him, but it's a real uphill battle for somebody with his size and wingspan. It's crazy, as fast and athletic as he is, you'd think that'd translate to some crazy good defensive footwork and quick hands that gets lots of steals, but it just doesn't.

Mac isn’t in the NBA because it’s a racist league. If he were a euro white he’d be the toast of the town…but a American white baller like him is treated differently. Why? Because if he comes in and stars, it takes all the shine away from who they really promote. I hate to say it but look what they did to Jeremy Lin. Everything they could to hold him down. He had the #2 selling jersey behind LeBron in the NBA and in China the #2 behind Kobe. Every team he went to he excelled and helped. And before you say the Lakers he was putting up career numbers when Scott sat him for a 3pt a game career player. Take Westbrook Harden Lillard and a host of others who are pimped to high heaven…none have won a championship in the NBA. You say well Lin did nothing to win that. Wrong. In the last 22 games of the season Lin’s finger prints were all over a majority of those wins down the stretch that helped the Raptors to a better seeding. Mac is this type of player. He’s already a star. They can’t have a white American 6’2” baller dominating in the league. They don’t want that. They want Trea Young. They want pick a name… why…because that’s who they want controlling this league. If Mac was a brother he’d been in the league long ago.

It’s wild that fans are saying the NBA doesn’t like White guys 😂 Two Serbs are the top two players in the NBA. If you can play you can play. Yeah there are some politics involved, however, If it were just about entertainment and adding more fans, it would make sense for the NBA to promote and support Mac… The ultimate truth is he’s just not good enough to be a star. The problem may be with the game itself. With positionless basketball, without traditional roles for players, especially “pure” point guards…. shorter, tweener players who are the general height 6’0-6-3 of traditional point guards. Guards like Mac will lose a roster spot to a taller wing who isn’t a defensive liability. Guys would have to redefine their game, aka Payton Pritchard. He’s talented offensively, but is turnover prone defensive liability. I could see him developing into a 6th man type, come in an play scorers role on a second unit on a bad team, at best.
