Amazing how poor NBA scouts are. I knew the kid was going to be NBA when i saw his clips in H.S. He's got the fire to win and succeed. He's going to be a BIG addition to a rooster in 4 or 5 years. He'll be close to allstar level by then.

TJ McConnell is an elite passer and finisher. I'm rooting for Mac but I doubt he ever play's a full season in the NBA. He's just one of those border line players. Not quite good enough to play in the NBA but an elite G-league player. Maybe he can be a 3rd string point guard and play 6 minutes a night but that's about it.

This is so awesome! I've been pulling for this kid for 7-8 years now. Props to the NBA for finally giving Mac his due! Well deserved!

"props to the nba"?? this was nothing but a PR move just like when they magically gave him a 10 day contract right before the All Star dunk contest because the nba needed a jolt or story line and used mac as their bitc#....same here, sixers rested their starters and brought mack up from D league for mop up duty....he deserves to be a starter on 5 to 10 of the crappy teams in the league right now but sixers wont use him in playoffs because they are stubborn and just using the kid as a token as is the nba

His main perceived problem is defense/height, which hopefully he will overcome with his hustle and athleticism (and smarts ?). He did good here playing against other “bench” players. Hope he gets more time/opportunity to improve and prove himself capable of a starting spot.

This was his first bit of time and he produced, he hustled and gave it his all. Definitely worthy of at least a chance to hone his skills and see what you can get from him.

I've been watching him since he was in high school. Had some rough patches in college but am really proud that he never gave up! If he stays healthy he will continue to get better in the court.

This is something I have struggled with myself mostly because other guys who I thought deserved more of a chance than they were given the reasons why they didn't Mac McClung excels at which has left me with thinking it has been due to one reason that is politics. I believe that to be the only reason possible when I have seen in the past other player that do not have the athleticism or the skills Mac has, but yet they were given a golden ticket to prove themselves for instance Eduardo Nájera who was the first Mexican born NBA draftee. He didn't was not near as good as Mac, but you would be fooled by the treatment he got in my opinion.

I still dont know why lakers let him go bro could have easily been an upgrade for dennis if he leaves this summer.

Mac's starting to show MVP stats already this early. A man-machine.

He is fast with a great drive, his vertical is beyond impressive, has a high three percentage, great passing sence, average height for a PG but well built no easy injuries as oppossed to a lot of other modern players. Mac is a threat all around, he can do a fast drive to penetrate to the paint a three even a dunk. Because of that he is also valuable as a decoy. Mac has great work ethic and attitude. He has more potential than most of the overhyped players like Ben Simmons.

everybody that makes it to this level is a hard worker. mac and austin aren't the only people with that ability. That's the minimum requirement. The court was full of scrubs. Nothing you saw here means much. When it comes to keeping a job in the league
