These Maag EQ's are pretty sweet. I just got the plugin eq4 mostly for the air band(which is excellent), but I noticed like you did how boosting the low frequencies even the sub fattens up the low end without causing problems.

Excellent Review Czar, you should work for Maag, because I'm sold. saving my $ for a EQ2.

Not sure. I did not track this vocal. I believe the pre was a UA LA610 though
