After Big died, Mase definitely kept Hip Hop alive. Being from New Orleans(Cash Money was doing it locally) we gravitated to the West in the whole "east vs west) Of course we had our own thing going on, but Mase got us interested in East Coast. Everybody started f****** with Bad Boy. We was already on that stunting s*** with CM but Bad Boys did it on a larger scale.

I just listened to MA$E’s album “Double Up” yesterday for the first time in like 8 years, and man when I tell you I can appreciate his flow and how he creates those pockets throughout a track. He can make me like a song with a terrible beat because of his flow. But it’s like Jada said, “Ya’ll use beats for help, we help the beats”. Salute to Pastor MA$E 💯

Double Up is a better album than Harlem World - If you want to know the true MA$E, listen to Double Up. Double Up is timeless. Every track on that album can still be played today and it would sound evergreen.
