M120: The Greatest Mercedes V12!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Often, when something arrives as the first, people tend to create a connection with it and hold on to it. The M120 is the first V-12 engine by Mercedes-Benz we could have the pleasure to experience in a passenger car and it was much more than just the base 6.0-litre variant. Actually, it is a beloved engine.

@@Thinginator it's not sleeves, rather it's the actual material structure of the engine block. Think of it as a coating not necessarily a sleeve. The problem is the aluminum part of the bore will be removed by a hone, whereas the silicone portion remains. Creating a spongey surface with pits all in the metal. This is because the silicone is MUCH tougher then the aluminum.

Great video as always dude, M120 was and still is a fantastic peice of mechanical engineering. As we're a lot of the 90's engines, but the M120 by far has the best sound with equal length headers. But even right down to the humble M111 that engine can almost double it's hp if you don't keep blowing headgaskets, then the M104 around even before the Toyota 2jz but just as capable without major modification a 3.2 m104 with rods and headbolts/studs will see 800+hp. And then you have the M119 again a boostable v8 that with minimal work will produce great results. Mercedes really put effort into all its engines if the time period for ultimate reliability (even if a few Victor reinz headgaskets tried to end that early) this is why I like my 90's Mercedes cars so much, even if occasionally things do go a bit wrong normally they're easy to fix. 👍

Mercedes reliable engines are always the ones the same time are what mercedes uses in their factory race cars. The v12 was excellent because it was being used for racing. The same way the 4cyl in 80s was or the inline 6. Now that small displacement is the focus that they can add electric motors too the most impressive engine they build is the 4cyl turbo that the cla and a class models get.

I saw on google people commenting if it would be possible to put the head of the pagani with the m120 engine in the m104 engine, is it possible to put the head of the 6.0 v12 or 7.3 v12? What parts of the Zonda m120 are possible to install?
