Nikki was trying to convince Mick that the fans of Motley Crue were unhappy with Micks guitar playing. Nikki, the guy who's entire performance is taped and who NEVER played a live note, is telling the only guy in the band who was playing live, that hes not up to par. Nikki...shut up. Micks guitar playing WAS the sound of Motley Crue whereas your bass playing couldn't even be heard.

Motley Crue should retire - again... The ultimate sign of greed is Nikki claiming, on occasion, that Mick plays the wrong chords when in fact, Nikki isn't playing all of his bass parts live, as his parts are pre-recorded. • @douglassloan6831

A click is just in the drummers ear so he can keep perfect time for the rest of the band. But everyone is still playing their instruments. They are just following the drummer who is playing to what is basically an electronic metronome that only he can hear in his headphones. What these guys are supposedly doing is miming to parts of the songs that have been pre recorded and played through the house PA which is what the fans are hearing. So, they are basically seeing Motley pretend to play to tracks that are being sent out in place of a live performance. It's like the BBC used to do with Top of the Pops. To me, this is a complete rip off. If you can no longer play your instrument, or sing your songs, don't charge people to come watch you fake it. It's pathetic and embarrassing. There comes a time when you pack it in. All great bands do it. Think of the money Robert Plant gave up NOT going out there and lip syncing to all the old Zep material and cashing a fat check. Kinda makes you appreciate the Stones that much more.

@@douglassloan6831 in a complex live show a click track can have lots of audio ... recorded tracks ... audio cues (literally someone counting down big visual effects for instance "and front pyro in 3 - 2 - 1... ") It's also really common for each member of the band to have their own mix of click track and other instruments I think in their minds since they wrote it and recorded the tracks .... you're still seeing Crue, but the live show is a mix of prerecord and live audio... Mick's just letting us know it's far far more than just a click track they've been using. which has been obvious for a while if you watch the headlines.

So they got the opening slot on the crue tour in phoenix. This was when i was still using heroin so at least 11 years ago. These guys were just beside themselves getting to play with theyre heros. They get to the venue which use to be called web theatre anyways they parked and nikki sixx or his body guard came out of his dressing tour van thing and yelled at them. He said nobody can park with 30 Feet of my vehicle they were like hey sorry were the opening act. Nikki just went back into his van. This pre-recorded backing tracks is starting to become a big issue for a lot of these 80s classic rock bands . It's something I think shouldn't be used in any capacity of live shows .but I guess when we're talking about guys in their late 60s and 70s what do we expect is gonna happen .especially vocals .there's just no possible way at these ages its not going to sound anywhere near as good as they did back 40 years ago so I can see why they do it (they want to be able to put out the best possible music in their live shows as possible) but this still doesn't make it right or fair to the fans that are paying hundreds of dollars for these multi group stadium tour tickets . As fans that were the ones that bought the albums and went to the concerts that actually were the ones that made these bands rich and famous to start with WE DESERVE BETTER !!! so if it comes to the point where a bassist doesn't play a single note in a live show ITS TIME TO CALL IT QUITS .AS A FAN ID RATHER REMEMBER THESE BANDS FOR HOW GREAT THEY WERE BACK IN THE DAY .THAN PAYING TO GO SEE THEM STAND UP ON STAGE AND PRETEND TO PLAY TO THE RECORDS BEING PLAYED THROUGH THE SOUND SYSTEMS .

It's true. It's been happening for a long time. They play with click tracks that have instruments on them to fill out the sound in the stadiums they play. It isn't that they aren't playing live, maybe Nikki isn't. But, Vince is definitely singing, and Tommy is playing. But, the tracks are to glue band together, so they can more put on a big show, and less about the music itself. The backing tracks make everything sound bigger with extra guitar tracks, backing vocals, etc. I honestly don't have a problem with it. It isn't like the instruments aren't plugged in and they are miming everything as they would on an award show. Vince is actually terrible, he isn't faking that, or lip syncing to terrible vocals. I think they thought Mars wasn't up to the task, so they asked him to let the tracks take over, and he took offense. He definitely has been missing notes or hitting wrong ones, the last couple of tours. And since MC wants to maintain that lavish rockstar lifestyle, they have to keep touring to make money, so they asked that Mick use the tracks more, and do less live playing, so he doesn't have to worry about being prefect. Really, I would rather Mick in the state he's in. Although, I like J5, MC is missing the soul of the band. When I think of MC, I think of the riffs. J5 plays them well, but it's missing that vibe.

@@itsalwayssomething7490 I agree with you totally. To me the music is missing its sole without mick. LIsten to the guitar riffs with J5 just sound generic and bland. J5 is great guitar player but not the same without Mick. Also, I agree on the backing track enhancing the music. Vince definetly sings live and I have heard him when he is good and bad. When he gets in shape he is really great. Tommy is a great dummer I don't think he needs to fake anything. But he may plays to click in order for it to time to the videos they got in background playing live.

OH PLEASE.......... They have been "Motley Vanilli" for years. They were never good live, but neither is Metallica, etc. Kiss had been using backing tracks for years as well. Nothing new. Milli Vanilli just got blamed for doing it because they were a pop band, all bands have done this since the digital / multimedia age began. I'm still a fan though. From way back.

As a die hard fan since 83’ I’m glad I didn’t waste my money this time. Just like my other fav band,KISS, the Crue is taking the band into disgrace land just like Gene and Paul are doing, cmon Nikki, this sucks dude! Get the fire back, go out and destroy like you used too, this is embarrassing. Forget the lighting cues and crap, go out and play rock n roll for cryin out loud!

@@briandarazs6620 I hear ya, had tickets to Shout but couldn’t go,bummer…then saw them in Oakland for Girls tour, two nights for Feelgood, then held Nikki up after a stage dive at a theatre show with Corabi..lol, then every tour after except when they had other drummers. Like you, I’m glad I saw the older shows, feel bad for any new fans who aren’t getting the real deal. Nikki and Tommy think that by having John in the band it makes them current or cooler…lol, same thing they did with the Corabi thing ( killer record though), hey guys, write your own stuff, record with only the four of you playing, then tour actually playing and I’ll pay for some more tattoos!

Nikki has probably had a bass player hired under the stage since1981. Sad they do this to mick. Why. Greed. Not a way to go out for him or any of them. Kiss also .look at that shot going on with ace. Seems to be a trend.

We all know the up to par thing isnt true because they are allowing vince up there and he isnt even singing real words. He makes cat calls and yeahs as close to the pitch of the original words. Its just a joke. They need to tune down a few steps to fit his voice now. But that means they would have to go in and record backing track to build there set list tracks that work with the time code of the lighting show. Mick mars is doing a much better job as guitar player than vince is at vocals.
