My only thought was that I hoped that all of those buildings were evacuated before they collapsed. I hadn't heard anything about it 😟🙏🥺.

Death toll reached 10.000 and it is expected that it will go towards 35.000 since there have been 5775 Buildings collapsed

This quake is bad. We haven't gotten a quake that big in SoCal in a longtime so I'd imagine once or does happen it'll be very destructive. RIP to all the people

Az önce tekrar oldu evdeydik.Evimiz 11. kat,kendimi ikinci kez ölüme hazırladım.Sanki dalgalı bir denizdeydik.Çok şükür çıkabildik binadan.Tam binadayken de 5.4 oldu merdivenler sallandı.Yine,ölüyoruz dedim ama çok şükür çıktık.

The way that earthquake shook reminds me a lot of the Landers Earthquake in Southern California in 1992 but certainly much stronger since that earthquake was only a 7.3 in magnitude. That one is still the largest one I have ever felt in my life and I was scared (although I was a little kid so it's easier to be scared even though I had felt earthquakes before that one).

Hi. The footage from 0:46 is from the Düzce earthquake. Not the Kahramanmaraş earthquake.

Poor people. Why the turkish government had a subestandar protocol on seismics events. 3 sec of answering the distress call is so little... Even México has a 30 seconds message system about this kinda of disaster.

jolt travels 6 kilometers per second. For 30 seconds advance warning, the fault line must be 180km away. Shaking started, information entered the machine, system warning passed. information can be given if the fault line is long and far enough but the fault line is just below the citye arly warning is impossible. The fault length of Mexico is around 400 km.

Yes! But most of them weren't built strong enough since it'd be more expensive or they were built in areas that have weak earth. The government should've checked better. Like my apartment got very few damages cause it was actually built well.
