on the edge of breaking free.........such a departure from the majority of 'electronic' music. Nice to have something that pushes one to explore, almost by default, and I think this combination is virtually unsurpassed for that. Excellent upload.......a nice balance between some detailed nuance and expansive drifting.................I appreciate your minimalist approach...............this is just dreamy........................

Great combination they really do compliment each other. The Lyra-8 sounds amazing but add the Microcosm and you are in a different world. Nice one.

I see a lot of pedals being used with the Lyra, this one seems to really suit it well. I have the Lyra but not the pedal, will have to see..

I saw the thumbnail and was like "YAS THEESE ARE MADE 4 EACH OTHER!!!"

I believe that is one of the older Lyras ... nice performance :)

I’m not aware of a “newer” Lyra. Please elaborate. I’ve had mine since it’s first run and keep up with SOMA and I’ve never heard of a newer version/look (other than the fact that it now is available in more colors than just black or white).

@@VaccumBlister6 Apparently the older Lyras had only AND & OR switch options on the LFO section; the newer units have a center-neutral switch position, where the LFO is not engaged.... If there are other updates to the hardware, i am unaware of them 🤷‍♂️

Very cool. I have a lyra and can't make it do this. i must need a microcosm. That's what is holding me back ;)

Great overview. I have both also, just getting familiar with them. I cant see if you are you using the Phrase Loop section functions on Microcosm here,or just the effects? (red looping light is off or not showing up on the camera) thanks.

Sounds lush. This is the combo I’ve been dreaming of. I just got my Lyra, it’ll be a while before any Microcosms arrive though. Incidentally, what tuning do you use most on the Lyra?

Thanks Pete. Tuning wise I seem to tend towards setting up 2 chords. Usually a minor chord, as in this film F minor, and another to add some harmonic direction. So here the other is a G half diminished. That seems to work for me. But pentatonic works well. I’ve heard one instance of someone using a Japanese scale. You could have fun with octatonic scales probably!

@@Christopher.white_ hihi lyra and u talk about scales funny :) very time i hit a pad on the lyra its out of tune modulated by other out of tune oscialltors :) but thats the fun ..your jam is nice :)
