This song was about the divorce of his first wife Nadine The divorce became final on Tuesday. Lyrics Train roll on was inspired from a track close to where they lived. Beautiful song beautiful arrangement. One of my favorites by The late great Ronnie Vanzandt Great Reaction as always Syde Stay Safe ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Billy Powell is the piano player for Skynyrd, he actually started out as a roadie for the band. They went to do a gig one night and the roadies was setting everything up and upon the stage was a piano that was covered with a tarp. Billy Powell removed the tarp and found the piano and sat down and started playing and everyone in the band almost shit their pants at his expertise. As it would come to light later on the band found out that he was trained as a classical pianists and he was asked to join the band. The rest is history as they say.

Thank you for your reaction, this is probably my favorite Skynyrd song. I may not always be in the mood for Free Bird or Sweet Home Alabama, but I'm always ready for this song. It's just one of the most perfect songs instrumentaly (if that's a word), they are played and fit the song perfectly, and I love the strings in it, and of course his singing is wonderful as always. I'd listen to it if it was just an instrumental. Thank you again.

This music takes me to the emotional time in 1977, Senior in HS..sitting in class...of course no cell phones or immediate news and we learned about the plane crash...that same sick feeling in your gut...I spent all my free time for months plugged into the stereo with the headphones staring at the turntable crying like I had lost family members...😥

It may sound foolish, but I believe with all my heart and soul. Lynrd skynyrd would have been the greatest of all time. I understand if some have them as the greatest of all time already. But I think if they had lived past the accident or if it never happened at all. They would be greater than the rest of the other all time greats.

The song is not about a woman. If you have watched any interviews (one good one on a documentary on axs tv) or read true history, you will find the true meaning. When Ronnie signed their deal with MCA, he knew their life as he and the band had known it, would forever be changed moving forward. After all, they worked tirelessly to hone their craft rehearsing 12-18 hour days 7 days a week for years. Ronnie wanted the stage show "sound" to match the recorded sound. Indeed it did which was what blew Al Kooper away. He was astonished that every guitar solo was played exactly the same from stage to studio. This can only be accomplished by very hard work driven by Ronnie. This song depicts Ronnie's feelings on how life was going to change forever. "Tuesday" would be the metaphor for that and it would be "gone with the wind".
