And to think Billy wasn’t originally in the band. He was kinda hanging around and being a roadie and they heard him playing one night and one of them said maybe we need a piano player and Ronnie said we need that piano player. He is essential to that sound that is only lynyrd skynyrd and an unbelievable talent. I was lucky enough to meet him twice and those are in my top memories of my life.

I would argue that "Pronounced" holds up right up there at or near the top of the list as one of the classic rock era's greatest debut albums by any band of the era. Just look at the list of hits that Pronounced spawned that remained staples of the live set even after the band reformed and went on in 1987 after the plane crash. I Ain't The One, Gimme Three Steps, Things Goin' On, Simple Man, Tuesday's Gone, & Free Bird all debuted from Skynyrd's Freshman effort in the studio, which is incredible if you start thinking how often many of those songs are still being played to this very day on FM Radio stations across the country, around the clock. My description of Skynyrd has always been "the greatest redneck, from the wrong side of the tracks orchestra" that rock has ever produced.

One of my favorite Skynyrd tunes, haven't heard it in years! Crazy how so many genres are covered in one song and arranged to sound so sweet! Kinda like something you would expect from a bayou tune with the piano, mixed with delta blues and slide that Gary made sound oh so fine... you guys are truly missed! IDK, kinda wild thinking that all these dudes came from one hood and invented a sound that will never be duplicated

I’m a Filipino who loves the blues and also worshipped for a time with the frozen chosen. This song is truly American- about questioning- even government. There’s a lot of corruption in my cousins governments region of the world Southeast Asia- human behavior I reckon. Wait a minute, are not our elected officials stateside human too?

I knew every word on this album when i was 5. Thanks to my deddy. Now he's gone and I'm 42 and still they're my favorite band of all time. The original band. I like Johnny just fine , but it just ain't lynyrd skynyrd. Also i grew up trying to play guitar and everybody liked Collins and gaines but nobody gives rosington the credit he deserves. All those melodies are him. Those songs are all him with the other guys playing little solos here and there. Now that i can tell the difference between the sound of a gibson and a fender i can appreciate what a musical genius Gary Rosington is.

Thank you. I agree with you! I don't know why they treated Gary so badly. What's up with that!
