I really appreciate you mentioning they are a made from a sustainable material and they have improved the economy in the area where manufactured. I have used the straight needles and liked knitting with them.

Hi Loan, I think the Lykke set has the pointiest tips of all the wooden sets I've seen. I really like them.

I think because wood is so fragile , and like you showed, ty, they bend , that is why people go with the harder materials, bamboo ones or karbonz for sock knitting. Wow, yes, copper does sound like a mess , going to look dingy , but knitting needles are something we are going to touch and tarnish just from use :( Thanks for this honest review .

You are so welcome! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and to comment. I will say that while the copper needles do tarnish, they polish up pretty easily and look great. It’s just a question of whether you want to keep up with that polishing. What kind of noodles do you have, and do you love them?

Are the Indigo, Driftwood, and Blush the same other than the color? Or do they have a different feel/grippiness? Thanks! :)

They are basically the same, but I think the Driftwood and indigo are smoother than the blush.

We do some knit alongs but not through Ravelry. I do them through my shop. I have my iwn community platform and I include some live sessions. We’re doing Joji Locatelli’s Super Simple Summer sweater starting next month.

The cables on the fixed Lykke circulars I have bought remind me of elephants: they have a very long memory. They never forget a bend or a kink. For that, I think they should be sold in a bargain basement somewhere, not in serious stores where they cost a mint.

@@CrazyForEwe In order to relax a cable, you have to dip it in boiling, not merely hot, water. The. Steam damages the very thin finish of the needles and the wood. If the finish were better quality, it would holdup, but Lykke makes it just so it’s needles look and feel good when new. Don’t you dare knit two sweaters with the same needles, and that’s without steam. In 70 years of using all sorts of needles, I have learned to tell the diamonds from the duds. Lykke are cubic zirconias for the price of diamonds.

Hi Lesley! Thanks so much for watching, and for this great question. There’s so much that goes into a choice like this. First of all let me say that you’re really smart to be considering an interchangeable set early on, before you have 1 million fixed sets. That being said, you might want to try out one fixed set of all the brands you are considering. In the shop, I have people come in and try out all of the different sets to see which ones they like best. If there is not a shop near you that carries all of the different sets you’re considering, obviously that’s not an option. Let’s talk about what you like in your knitting needles generally, and what you don’t. For instance, do you find that your stitches slip off your needle before you’re ready? In that case, you might actually want to consider a set of wooden interchangeable needles. For beginners, I am really fond of the Lykke set. Plus that set goes all the way up to US 17 tips. They’re nice and smooth and reasonably pointy, but not slippery. And they are a little less expensive. If you’ve already decided that you want a set of the metal ones, I must say that I really love the Rockets Squared. They are especially nice for beginners, because those subtle ridges in the tips keep your stitches from slipping off before you’re ready. They have a nice pointy tip that allows you to get into and in between your stitches. They are more expensive, and the set only goes up to a US 11, but they are gorgeous and wonderful. I am happy to chat about this with you on a zoom call or whatever. If you go to my website crazyforewe.com You can send me a message, and I’ll set something up. I hope that helps.Happy Knitting

Yes. There’s a knit stitch pattern that I like called the rosary stitch. Could you look at it and figure out what to use to make a pattern of it? Like a shawl or a scarf? If you make a video of the stitch pattern, can you call it rose stitch instead of rosary? My mom doesn’t like the name of it? So we have to change it
