Wow! I honestly think they both sounded great! Haha. I love how at 2:39, when Luther did his little Scat, George looks up at the ceiling, like: "Damn. I can't beat that." But he sounded amazing in his own soulful way as usual:)

Luther was singing effortlessly, I like the little scat he does at the end. Boy George handled his own and sounded pretty good. But, hey, this is Lutha!!!!!

Luther scats, Boy George looks at him and shouts "Taxi. GMTFOOH". Two great artists but standing next to Luther is tough for even the best.

George said in his book that Luther mopped the floor with him in this performance... but thre are some wonderful moments here for George in retrospect.

88feji George is vocally outclassed in every way and you are in denial. So your observation of the situation overrules the admission of the man who was a victim of the massacre? I saw poor George with the deer in headlights look that night live as it happened and I could see the intimidation then just like it happened in this replay now!

Both were wonderful in their own style, Luther a voice like no other and Boy being who he is marvelous!!!

George seems intimidated here, there's so much more depth to his voice. Luther of course slayed the dragon & they sounded amazing together!!

I loved him from the time "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" broke in the U.S. Didn't even know about the dressing up then! I just knew the kid had a voice to rival Smokey Robinson!

Boy George is a great singer,everything he sings here is in tune so why all the nasty comments.He didnt give 100% but he was a junkie then and he looked up to Luther as his idol and was nervous.

What a voice!!! Great Luther, we miss you so much. George did it well too, he have a sweet and unique voice.

I think boy george has a really nice voice, but when Luther sings, he makes it seem effortless, it just flows.

Boy George seemed to be holding back a little. Still a great duet though.

Singing against Luther is every male singer's nightmare - George has a unique voice, but Luther is just off the scale in every respect.

George has the most beautiful voice i heard in my Life!

I have always listened to all kinds of music. George appreciated alot of the greats How cool is it that he sang with them 😊

Two of the greatest to ever walk on a stage and collide in their own style while showing the world, it can be done. This was a great time when music mattered to some and didn’t care to collaborate with others for “fun”. Now generation “all about me” it’s hard to see greats together. Thanks for the upload

Jimmy happens to own this song he's the one who made this song a Huge Hit in (1966) and again in (1974) this classic Became Jimmy Ruffin's Greatest well song David and the Temptations are better off Singing other Songs but nobody can ever replace a great voice Jimmy's for a really awesome song like this.

Joe M3 Victims is my shit, very underrated song.

Luther wasn't showboating. This is black music: expressive, heartfelt and strong. Luther's a good singer and sings in a way Boy George can't/doesn't and that's okay. But, I think another singer could have sung this with Luther, someone more along the lines of Jamie Foxx or even Lenny Kravitz, these (2) would be more complementary. Luther and Boy George did a good job with this beautiful song, but were mismatched and Luther's singing honors the original more.

2dasimmons vocal/sound wise I don't think they were mis matched..their voices blended well. Maybe style wise it didn't work because both have too different styles.

Goes to show Boy George is versatile in any music he sings. Love this with Luther and George.

@@joeyconvery2055 ...Luther was extremely rude and dismissive to Boy...get Boys' 1st book...he talks all about it...Luther unfortunately was jealous of Boys' realness...he was basically in the closet all his career....and Boy was being celebrated for his gayness...and looked and sounded amazing while he was at it...i mean just look at him...he is an openly gay white man singing soul music in a Jean Paul Gaultier skirt suit in full makeup at the Apollo Theater....looking like Japanese anime...a walking CGI special effect...to someone in the closet...that mustve really triggered him...especially since he knew he was the better singer...but that is life....in the closet....

It's too easy for luther man....
