I’m sure it was a pain in the butt but man it looks great! It reminds me of the glamour days of aviation with the beech stagger wings and other Art Deco designs. Now you know your going to do some avionics what’s going in it?

Hey Creek! Yeah, I’m trying to figure that out. I have about 4 amps to play with for a radio, transponder, lights and ELT. I wish I could throw some experimental instruments in it, I’d have a ton more options. I’d happily listen to any suggestions!!!

I suggest looking at ICOM A220TSO. It’s an 8 watt radio which ohms law says amps = watts/volts so .67 amps if you are using 12 volts. I have an ICOM and it’s been great. Low price too for TSO at about $1500.

I’ve not used one but the spec said 6 watts so that would be .5 amps at 12 volts. I like the panel space savings too but like the simplicity of the 1 piece I com. I’m sure either on will be great you might have a little less range with the 6 watt Transmitting though.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I know you had a hard time with this project but WOW man, the end result turned out just amazing. Yes plywood and carpet would had been a lot less time and headache and as I’ve said previously, I understand all to well the “need” for perfection with our type, but seriously, you should step back and be sooooo proud that you didn’t take the easy way and put the extra time and frustration into this project. Great job and as always, thanks for bringing us along! Scott

Thanks Scott! I'm debating if I should make another one of these for the storage area. They should probably match. Ugh! Thanks for watching!!!

The AV8R's lol, sorry don’t mean to laugh but I can so put myself in that spot and yup I’d feel the same way. Just take a break n maybe do the stripe then go back to the wood project. Sometimes we gotta just walk away for a few n then come back to it. Either way, it is coming out beautifully

Turned out awesome man! I thought it might be a bit weak the way you built it. Glad to see you found an elegant way to reinforce/laminate it. btw... I just stumbled across your channel. Great stuff! I think we could be brothers from another mother! My first plane was a Maule that I bought as a basket case and rebuilt. Sold it and got my Bonanza - which I've had for eight years now. Also currently restoring a Taylorcraft. Subscribed!

Hey Brian! Thanks for subscribing! That's a pretty bo you have! I miss all the planes I've sold, but you just can't keep them all! Do some vids on the restoration. I'd love to follow along!
