What makes this sadder n more real is realizing that this was in 2012 the rise of chief keef and all those newer gangs. Smh rip to those lost.

This hurts….. Lupe dedicated his career to push something different. Something other than the bullshit. It’s really a fucking shame his inspiration was lost on the next generation. Him and Common. It’s a pity. Love Chief Keef, but it’s pretty pathetic he has a deeper legacy in Chiraq……

Lupe Fiasco has a charity that helps youth ages 14-24 years old. He's also participated in and lead other charity efforts. He's had a positive effect and imprint on the peoole of Chicago, no doubt. But it is certainly pitiful the mistakes we've made, our short sightedness, and the plots of those around us that are looking for the downfall of an entire generation and their children's children as well. And look who's embracing Lupe and welcoming him to give classes.. MIT and Yale. Lupe is academic for some while gangs and ghosts are everyday life for others.

I literally remember that Lupe interview w/ Sway. Even when Sway tried to attempt an Ollie. Definitely shows the journey that Lupe really took to get himself out of his situation but yet still feels survivors remorse to those that are just stuck w/ little to no resources or have just given up hope.

I remember seeing this video back in 2012 when it first aired. When he sheds his tears and shares his pain at the end I cry wit em. Idk why. I know what he’s talking about when he states his homies are dead. But that, me talking to me 6 years ago send chills down my spine. Life is changing fast man

Thanks for uploading this. This struck me. I didn't listen to Lupe back in the day because I was brainwashed about the kick push stuff being soft, and I was in a bad part of Texas and thought I wanted to be around those problem people, until I lost friends or had them go to prison, or people I knew become monsters and went to prison. It's stupid and I was foolish. I like Lupe so much more now that I'm older and to see him talk about this is wild. He seems like a genuinely good person. He's helped a lot of people from a position of strength. Damn...

Just look up Charles Patton. Lupe came from a real place with some real backers. Watching an old video to see the dead alive and happy is a strange perspective.
