Having Lupe on was so monumental and special because he unlike other guests is very knowledgeable on streetwear and is respected and admired by all of the hosts. Love seeing Brendan and Welty fan out over a guestz

I would go as far as saying he was one of the first rappers to really make streetwear grow. Along with Pharrell. I mean the owner of HYPEBEAST magazine credits Lupe for their creation

His brand always seemed humble to me. Until this show. Blowing off kaws, telling Welty he’d never be on a sneaker show and whining how Nike not working with him. Swang on em had a fire 16 though

That was an incredible episode. Took Lupe a couple of minutes to warmed up but as soon as he did he was so engaging dropping gem after gem. One of the best episodes of this show

Brendan may come off as corny to a lot of people who watch just one or two episodes but having been stuck around since the beginning, the guy really is like an encyclopaedia for sneakers. Easily my favourite person in the crew. Big up the stache

He’s easily the most likable and entertaining one on the show

Gold Watch was how I got put onto streetwear. That and the outro of Food and Liquor was where Lupe was shouting out all sorts or brands and individuals in the culture. They also forgot to deep dive into Lu’s love for Goyard but I can’t complain. This was a long time coming.

That Virgil story always hits me. RIP V ✨🕊

Lu’s Dear Fall freestyle is my alarm clock ringer so that reference bugged me out for a sec lol

this is such a small thing, but I yelled with excitement when Trinidad finally said "skip means you don't fuck with it at all"...he switched it from "fuck with" to "rock with" for the last couple seasons and I'm just glad to have that small victory back. Thanks Dad

Lupe influenced a whole generation of streetwear. I would argue he is right after Pharrell and even above Kanye when it came to that (all of CRS is really top 3 rappers with style). His Hypebeast blog and the Gold Watch song alone. What about Righteous King-Fu? IYKYK. At the very least there were the Lupe Fiasco UA Dunks I know Greg Street got but he do need an SB.

Loved that episode. Lupe’s The Cool album got me through a really rough time when it first came out, I used to listen to that over and over. Good to see he’s a great guy.

Nike not doing a collab with Lupe makes sense for the time. A lot of skateboarders were on the fence about Lupe. And Nike at the time we’re trying really hard not to piss off “core” skateboarding. But it would absolutely make sense now that everyone can look back and truly appreciate the contribution of that song and Lupe in general. As a young black skateboarder in Baton Rouge Louisiana at the time that song Lupe’s representation meant the world.
