Em's amazing flow, syllables, cadences, assonances, story telling, message, the way he was able to draw a parallel between his real life and Jimmy Smith Jr., and just intensity and raw emotion /passion is what makes the original an all time untouchable classic. Lupe's ability to create these chain metaphors and triple entendres is what makes his version a masterpiece, along with his own incredible syllable game also. However, Em did pave the way, also made the beat too, so edge goes to him.

Lupe is my favorite rapper for myriad reasons. First and foremost is his almost unparalleled lyrical genius. Metaphors that of which reminisce a English Professor. Lose Myself is a legendary track, but this...this is fuckin incredible.

Is still debatable. I believe Lupe's Version was definately more lyrical. And he actually was spitting with some conviction and passion which i wish he would do alot more often. Em was still lyrical but not quite as much as Lupe but his passion and conviction simply makes you feel his words more. Two different approaches both VERY good. The two best verses over this beat IMO I cant really say whos better.

Did anyone notice that lupe's last line on this is the same as Em's last line on Nail in the Coffin? and there seems to be other Em alliterations in it if u pay attention carefully

Lupe is the probably the only mainstream rapper out there right now, that can lyrically pull off a to freestyle to an Eminem and not fall on his ass.

@0a170 i agree that Lupe is more abstract, creativity has to be equal bcuz although Lupe is more metaphorical, Em's early stages was the horrific psychopathic rap punchlines mixed in with the word play, he basically invented that style and brought it up and both are extremely artisically gifted. I go back and forth on who I think is the better overall mc and it just depends on what you look for in the perfect mc cuz neither of them really has any flaws.
