Nice! -- QUESTION -- Do you have wood in your transom or any structural part of this boat. I was surprised to learn that Princrcraft uses plywood in their transom.

At 0:40 even with a 60hp you gotta backtroll for slow jigging speeds? How fast does it do when in forwards at its lowest speed?

It’s a mistake having a nearly 18fter Max hp at 75. These boats are heavy. I hade a Lund 1650 with a 60 needed a 90. That’s why I’m ordering a Alumacraft. There 175 is rated for 90. I love Lund but that 75 is same block and weight as 90. Should be rated for 90 on the 1775

What motor is that at :22 ? I didn't think the hull could handle a motor that big! What is the danger of a bigger motor than rated anyway? Will it stress the transom too much or just not as safe for the stability of the boat? Because I am a more power kind of guy. :D

The danger of a bigger motor is the boat may start flying away

Potentially, a motor that is larger than what's recommended on the compliance plate could lead to speed reduction and poor fuel efficiency, water intake (the gunnels will closer to the water line), and under extreme circumstances, sinking. You may need to adjust the tilt setting on the tiller to maximize fuel efficiency, and especially if you have numerous people on board. Tilt the motor up when there is lots of weight in the back of the boat, and point it down when there is excessive weight in the front, so as to avoid nose diving. Regardless of the circumstances, you should always be evenly distributing the weight of the boat to maximize fuel efficiency as well as for safety purposes. And you are correct in regards to the hp size, it is quite large. Boats that are over 40 hp are most commonly driven with a steering wheel.

Another idea that I want to convey, is the fact that boats with larger hp are more expensive in insurance costs, as they are of higher value as well as being easier to damage. You have to consider whether or not you want to be tilting the engine up and down the moment water depths fluctuate. There are definitely advantages to smaller hp, as the lower unit doesn't go down as far. The bottom line is that you really need to understand the geology of the lake you are on. All the contours must be taken into consideration. Either ask locals where the obstructions are, or use a nautical chart. I can tell you from experience that many lakes are not officially marked, so you must keep an eye out. Cardinal, lateral and special bouys are not the only aids to navigation, as cottagers often display upside down bottles etc...... Always reduce your speed when coming into a bay, a peninsula, islands etc, as these areas are where shoals are most prevalent.

Easily over 20 grand....I priced out one of these on their website one day, all I have to say is that if money were no object I'd buy a new boat like the one in this video. I'll definitely settle for a used Lund or Alumacraft- with a rig like this, the minute you roll it off the lot id depreciates like a car.

Why in the world is Lund still using plywood on the flooring? sooner or later no matter what the treated plywood will rot.
