I didn’t even know this was possible on a little SSV! Saving this for later - we’re planning to buy one next year. This is awesome!

the milk man was genius, the way he made them crates so they perfectly hug a propane tank.

Ive thought about going to an ssv just wish I could fish out of one first. Currently have two boats one is a 14' with a 68" beam and the other is a 16' with an 82" beam. The difference between the two is night and day as far as felt stability although they are both capable boats for the size. I've had my eye on an 18 ssv for a while as an all around boat but wondering how stable they are. With that bit of extra beam on the 16 my whole family can lean on one side and you wouldn't even think of it. Not so much on the 14.

Hey great vids and many inspiring ideas. I am just in the process of securing a SSV-14 this week so I will use some of these ideas for sure. love those quick straps for the net and paddle gear. Can you tell if if the ladder interferes with the sonar transducer? many of the newer side scan extend quite a ways out and I cant tell from the angle whether it would hit the transducer. Also with your kicker can you steer/control it from your seat? is there an easy way to attach it to the main motor and would it be more comfortable steering with the main motor? Mine will come with a newer 9.9 but I will be upgrading to a 20ish? and I was going to sell it but as I see what you have done I am now thinking to just keep it. Great jobs on the vids.

No issues with the ladder. No I can't set up remote steering with the 5hp. 20hp is a little small. You'll be disappointed with the performance. 30 would be the best option.

@@shuswapoutdoors thanks, I had been wondering if a small teflon wedge block attached to the ladder vertical tubes might be required to hold the ladder away from the transom to protect the transducer. good to know it doesn't interfere. Do you by chance have a close up photo? Ok I will consider the larger motor, I'm 270lbs so I was hoping to minimize the rear weight but I will look at that next season. for now I have to make do with the trolling motor. Cheers

Thanks, Mike. The ladder works awesome. I wish we had added it at the beginning of the build. It's really useful. I tried looking for it but can't find the exact one we got. Got it from Amazon. 3 step telescopic ladder.

Would you mind sharing the price of the custom canvas work to give those of us considering a similar build an idea what to expect? Thanks for sharing all your upgrades.
