I’m a little late to the comments here, but I’m currently working on a speed run 4tec 2.0 1. Out of the box the 4tes2 would barely free roll, (pinion removed hand rolled across the pavement), so I broke it down and found the rear diff axle bearings were in a bind so I did a little removal of the material on the outer edges of the bearings seat (not easy) but after that I replace all bearings with ceramic and wow what an improvement, it would free roll with a hand push for thirty feet. I believe a lot of nay sayers were correct about not achieving 70mph for this reason alone.

Those fans make it sound like a jet, but I also want OBA on my rig. (Same model just the GT stock with VXL)

It would be too loud for OBA

Couldn’t you guys put the ESC in “race” mode to get rid of reverse? That way on braking it doesn’t spin out as bad

Can you actually play with it with that gearing in or is it just for speed runs??

With good high flow fans like we show in the video, we have been able to do speed passes and plenty of drifting around on the high speed gearing without getting too hot. Without the fans, stock gearing it got too hot. Fans made a major difference. Check part 2 of this video for some drifting after the car hits 70!

looks like a better body is needed for more downforce,,,its getting too much lift at speed

I feel like cutting holes could prevent some lift. Without causing a parachute effect.

So pretty much like every traxxas. Upgrade servo to steer and the brushed to brushless and then along with the breakage. Depending on how much you crash. 4 tec brushless save 190ish$

There running the VXL, so brushless, only the brushless claims 70mph
